We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cameron, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is resilience. It is imperative that you never let any person or circumstance knock you off your spot.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Art exists in so many forms, to me just how someone acts is a form of art, or their Feng shui. For me, doing youtube and graphic designs is a way that I express my self. I am most proud of the editing process of my youtube videos! It’s so easy to record content worth sharing, but when it is edited to a degree that content because so much more valuable. Take for example my “Week In the Life of a Teenage Hairstylist” video, I recorded good footage but when I edited the video I added tips throughout the video for viewers to take note off. By doing this I am increasing the educational value of my video by tons.

Hair is another form of art for me, it’s not as expressive for me but I definitely receive gratification from doing hair. I have reached the level I am at in my profession by being flexible, taking risks and negotiating in my affairs. I feel as though too many people live with this “owe no one anything” attitude and it damages community.

I had to look at it in retrospect, if I wanted to build a community of returning clients, how could I accommodate them to keep them returning? Sometimes it is about missing out on a couple dollars or fun to put effort into a bigger investment. I am definitely a social person, most people I am friends with now because I initiated conversation first. With that being said reaching this level in my career was not hard. Is the work hard? Yes, however the more consistent your are the easier it is to endure.

I am definitely still learning to place boundaries on my time when it comes to doing hair, much of the time I am doing so much hair that I don’t even have the time for my YouTube channel.

Lastly, I could say what I feel everyone should know about my brand but I would rather let my actions and work speak for itself. Thank you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is a mecca for creatives and diversity. There are so many restaurants, activities, and chill spots in an around Atlanta and the metro. Without a doubt we’re going to eat from the local wing spot at least once. How could we not it’s like a staple down here. If you want to find people with fashion statements Ponce and the Belt line are definitely some places to be. All of the clothing brands record content around that area. The Belt line recently got updated about a year ago and business is booming for it. There’s so many people you will see out there on any day at any given time. It is also a prime location because it’s not far from everything.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a thanks to my friend Madison, she has seen me face so many adversities. Meeting the face of those adversities was me and she was right behind me. It gets to a point where you’re understanding that most people don’t take time to understand you, they just come to you for comfort and nothing else. Madison has never been one of the people, she is kind and our love for eachother is reciprocal.
