We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal DeVone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“It’s a celebration every time you wake up!!”

Even when life feels heavy, I choose to see the glass half full, not empty. I wear my rose-colored glasses (or maybe my rosé-colored glasses!), and find the beauty in every moment, even the tough ones. Every day is an opportunity to shift my perspective and embrace the good.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
C. DeVone aka Rose’ DeVone – Event Curator | DJ | Producer | Storyteller**

My journey into the music and entertainment industry wasn’t just about finding a career—it was about embracing a calling. From a young age, music was the pulse of my life. Growing up in New York, I was surrounded by an eclectic mix of sounds that shaped my ear and ignited my passion for storytelling through music.

Attending LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts (yes, the *Fame* school) deepened my connection to rhythm, movement, and the power of artistic expression. I trained in ballet, modern, hip-hop, and African dance, but it was the *feeling* of music that truly captivated me. That love for sound followed me to Howard University, where I immersed myself in events, culture, and the energy of bringing people together.

By day, I was producing high-profile events across the U.S. and internationally—from Miami to China. But by night? That’s when I found my true rhythm. Working the doors of NYC’s legendary nightclubs, performing at open mics, and eventually stepping behind the decks, I realized DJing wasn’t just about playing music—it was about *creating moments*.

I dedicated myself to the craft, learning from some of the best DJs in the game, and before long, I was spinning at some of the biggest events—the US Open, the Tyler Perry Show, the Essence Festival. I’ve been blessed to share stages with legends like MC Lyte, Funkmaster Flex, Kendrick Lamar, SWV, and Janelle Monae, all while staying true to my mission: making people *feel* something through music.

Beyond the turntables, I’m a creator and curator of experiences. Whether it’s producing podcasts like *Go Off, Sis*, *Legally Uncensored*, and *Morning Toast*, launching my brands *But, Is There Wine?!* and *Rosé Season by C. DeVone*, or building my presence in food, wine, and culture, my goal is always the same—connecting people, creating vibes, and making every moment unforgettable.

Was it easy? Not at all. Breaking into a male-dominated industry required confidence, resilience, and an unwavering belief in my craft. I’ve learned that success isn’t just about talent; it’s about persistence, relationships, and knowing your worth. Every challenge—from navigating industry gatekeepers to balancing creativity with business—has only made me stronger.

At the core of everything I do is *authenticity*. I want people to know that I’m not just a DJ—I’m a storyteller, a vibe curator, and a force in the industry who brings passion, style, and substance to everything I touch. Whether I’m behind the decks, behind the mic, or behind the scenes, my mission is to inspire, entertain, and elevate.

So, what’s next? More music, more vibes, and more unforgettable experiences. Stay tuned—because this journey is just getting started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When it comes to my favorite spots in Atlanta, **MCK** is my go-to for food and drinks—I’m there weekly! I also love **RockSouth** for its great vibes, **St. Cecilia** for amazing seafood and cocktails, and **Rosé & Rye** for a chic atmosphere and good drinks. And for Taco Tuesday, you’ll catch me at **CT Reforma** or **Bar Taco**—both bring the flavor and the perfect vibe.
