Meet Hadiyah Weaver | Actress, Host & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hadiyah Weaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hadiyah, how do you think about risk?
Hi! I approach risks head-on because of my faith in God and understanding that those risks are just a part of a bigger plan. And not to be cheesy, but it’s all a part of the process. I always ask myself if the risk aligns with where I want to be – my ultimate goals — which helps me not worry as much about the outcome. I try not to leap without thinking of course, but I know that growth won’t happen in comfort zones.
For example, recently, I moved from my hometown of Memphis to Atlanta to focus on my acting and content creation, it was a huge risk. I didn’t know exactly how things would work out, but I planned as much as I could and trusted that if I stayed consistent and put in the work, it would pay off—and it has in so many ways.
At the end of the day, I see risks as chances to grow, even if they don’t always go as planned. Whether the result is a win or a lesson, I know I’m moving forward.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an actress, host and content creator. Back home in Memphis, I was a teen reporter – I would participate in the different reporting options that we had. This led me to choosing Journalism as my major in college and when I got there, I really wanted to be proud of myself at graduation so I really went hard at Temple University in Philly where I went to school. Participated in almost everything journalism related so when I graduated I landed a job coming back to my hometown in Memphis, working at WREG-TV/News Channel Three as a television producer which was behind the scenes, and due to fear, I stayed behind the scenes in the beginning. Which was my biggest challenge – putting myself in front again. It can be very vulnerable making a skit from your own experiences, or creating a video with your real personality hoping it’s not “too much.” Plus, I was also afraid of putting myself in front of the camera once I graduated because honestly, professors would say broadcast producers will always have a job and I wanted to always have a job. Then came TikTok, an app that some people like to call ‘silly and little’ was introduced to me and it changed my life. I’ve built a community of over 100,000 television and movie lovers supporters and was able to work with some big brands that I love from Hulu to Prime Video and more. I was constantly told that I should pursue acting and that’s when I started doing in my free time. I’ve been able to perform in campaigns with Ashley Furniture and learn a lot about myself in the midst. Now that I’m in Atlanta, that’s what I’m focusing on. Building myself as a creative from acting and hosting to my business of content marketing. All three are something I really love. I think I’m most excited to continue building a solid foundation with my work, so far so good, but I know upcoming opportunities this year will make it even more amazing.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m still getting to know the city, but I have to say Nando’s in Dunwoody is ah-may-zing! I’ve been twice already and when I tell you both times I was so satisfied. I’ve had the Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wrap and the Thigh & Mighty Sandwich – so good! My favorite heat flavor is the Hot and I love their Fries with Perinaise! I’ve jogged on the Beltline which is fun and the Museum of Illusions has been one of my favorite experiences in the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I had to name someone in particular, it would be my grandmother, Daisy. I’ve never seen someone believe in me as much as she does. When I tell you she’s believed in me from the start—I mean it. When I was younger and discovered how much I loved talking (guilty) and writing, she bought me my first recorder, which I still have to this day. From helping with my first acting headshots to supporting me as a creator, she’s never made me feel like I couldn’t achieve something or that I should stop being who I am.
Having a solid group of people to lean on is so important, especially when you’re navigating your career as an entrepreneur. There are tough times, no doubt, but there are also amazing moments—and they’re even better when you get to share them with the people who’ve had your back from the start.
