We had the good fortune of connecting with Marques Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marques, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is authenticity. Staying true to who I am whether it’s my passion for cars, my creative approach to content, or sharing real-life moments has allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level. I focus on creating relatable, engaging, and inspiring content that reflects my journey, values, and interests. Consistency, hard work, and the willingness to adapt while staying authentic have helped me stand out and build a loyal community that supports not just my brand, but also my vision.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So, becoming a firefighter for the city of Atlanta was literally the hardest but most rewarding experience of my life. I started Recruit School back in 2021, and it was a real test of endurance and mental fortitude. My sergeant at the time smoked us every day and was breaking us in to get us ready for life after earning our EMS certifications. But when I got to fireside, I learned it was on a whole other level. And even though it was different, it prepared me for the basics I would deal with in the field.

What sets me apart is my drive to keep grinding through adversity and staying grounded. I’m really resilient and adaptable, and I know what it feels like to be at the bottom. I never want to go back there, so I’m willing to sacrifice and persevere. My story is about rising above any challenge, sticking to my goals, and leveling up in every way I can. I want to inspire others to do the same.

My biggest motivation was back when I didn’t have a car and I really had no direction in life and how people treated me during that time and what hurt the most was that it was family members that talked bad about me the most. My fiancé came along and really encouraged me and pushed me to be better and she often told me during my time of finding myself that I was so much more than my current situation. Nothing was easy about this process and I really just want the world to know that the entirety of my brand is about resiliency growth, and authenticity. It’s about rising when you have fallen and attacking your goals and dreams with even more zeal and tenacity than you ever have.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So for me, I’m pretty introverted, but when I do go out, I love to keep it centered around my interests. If someone’s into sports, like basketball or football, they can check out the amazing Mercedes-Benz Stadium or catch a basketball game at State Farm Arena. Topgolf in Atlanta is also a great go-to if you’re looking to have some fun and enjoy good food.
The Battery in Atlanta has a lot of cool restaurants and bars, along with unique experiences like The Escape Game a super thrilling challenge where you have to be resourceful to complete a mission and escape from an immersive environment.
And last but not least, Midtown has a variety of experiences. One of my favorites is IPIC Theaters a luxury movie theater where you can watch the latest movies and enjoy an actual meal with options like pizza, burgers, sliders, and more.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest motivators and encouragers through my time of finding myself, and I have to honestly say this without trying to be politically correct, are my older brother, Patrick, and my fiancée Ja’Tara. That’s no disrespect to anybody else, but they were instrumental in me rising up to become the man I am today. I feel like that’s going to continue, and I still have so much to learn. I credit a lot to them, but again, that is in no way meant to disrespect anyone in my immediate family, whether it’s my sister Whitney, my mother, or my father. I love them all dearly, but to get to where I am today, that’s who I want to recognize. Big shout out especially to my cousin Cornelius, who is really more of a brother than anything. I can talk to him about anything sun, so that’s a shout-out to him as well.
