We had the good fortune of connecting with Ahmad Alzoukani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ahmad, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe our success can really be attributed to many things, but two stand out the most. First is hard work and persistence. It has taken a lot of time and hard work to get where we are. If we had taken it easy or not pushed as hard as we did, we would not have gotten to where we are today. But we did not do it alone, so the second factor is support and networking. We have gotten help in many ways from friends, customers, and people in the community. Without this assistance, both seemingly big and small, we would not have been able to succeed as well or as quickly.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Mint Coffeehouse started in 2021 as a mobile coffee catering business in the greater Atlanta area. From a single espresso machine we transported in a small trailer, we have grown to two coffee trucks, several espresso bars, and a coffee shop. A few things that have made us stand out in our catering are our responsiveness and the ease of working with us alongside our delicious beverages. We strive to always respond in a timely manner and make the booking/planning process as easy as possible for our customers. We want to help take stress off a customer’s plate by allowing them not to have to worry about the coffee, whether or not we will be on time, etc.

We opened our coffee shop in Tucker, GA in August 2024. Our coffee shop provides a typical American coffee shop menu with influences from my Syrian culture. The spacious interior of our shop is decorated with art and antiques we have brought from Syria. We aim to be a community space where everyone can feel at home. We hope to provide a welcoming and comfortable place where people can gather, work, meet new friends, or just relax for a bit. We also strive to be a place where people of all ages feel welcomed, so we provide children’s toys and books for our youngest customers to enjoy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The main place I like to take people when they visit is Ponce City Market. I love the environment and just walking around.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Teco and Shirley of Signature Automotive Specialists in Decatur have been such a huge support and encouragement throughout our journey. They are good friends who have supported us personally and supported our business in many ways. From helping us find and repair our truck, meeting us in remote locations when vehicles break down, letting us park our truck at their shop for months, and being some of our first customers at our new shop, they have shown up in more ways than we could ever have imagined or expected. They are also incredibly encouraging and supportive of us in everything we do. The love and support they have given us has really helped us get started and encouraged us to keep going.
