We had the good fortune of connecting with DeeLeww Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeeLeww, is there something you believe many others might not?
One piece of conventional advice that I disagree with is you must grind 24/7 to become successful. We live in a society where grinding and hard work is worshipped. I think rest needs to be worshipped just as much as grinding. Rest is super important. It allows the body to recharge which is necessary to function at its highest capability. I also think aligning with what you want to attract is the true key to attaining what you want versus grinding for it. It is all about law of attraction and energy at the end of the day. You can work as hard as you can, but if you are not energetically aligned with what you want to attract, you will never attract it. Instead you will continue to chase it.. away.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I recently started a motivational segment called Temple Tuesday. This is all about spreading light. Every Tuesday I speak on a topic and give my experience with that topic and advice on how to overcome the obstacle. Temple Tuesday started with me needing therapy and not having a therapist, so I started to speak to myself. I then got an idea that maybe others need to hear these words as well and from that moment, I decided to make videos public for all of my Instagram followers to view. Since then I’ve gotten amazing feedback. My heart is full knowing I am living my true purpose and helping others. If I had to say one thing that sets me apart from others, I will say my fearlessness. I am a risk taker. Calculated risks of course but I do not stay in my head too long about ideas. Once I think it, I figure out how to execute it and then I take action. At this point in my career, I am most excited about opening my market up. As many know, I have been in music for quite some time and now I am expanding into motivational speaking, apparel and directing. I got to where I am professionally remaining true to myself and trusting the process. It has not been a straight line to success but I truly believe that is what makes it beautiful. I never looked at things being easy or hard. I just feel I am either aligned or not. When truly aligned, I will attract everything I want so anytime I feel things are difficult, that is an indicator I am not aligned and need to go within and reaffirm all that I want. Some lessons that I’ve learned along the way is no is not final. Most of the time rejection is God’s protection and redirection to something better. Another lesson I learned is I must be my biggest fan. Many people will not see or understand my vision and that is ok. The vision was not given to them, it was given to me. So whether people are clapping for me or not, I must stay focused on my vision and clap for myself. I want the world to know I am no different than whoever decides to read this. I wasn’t born into opportunity. I had to create opportunities. If I can do it, you reading this can do it too.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to eat so most of the time we will be in restaurants. We would definitely grab brunch at West Egg. Grilled oysters from C&S (I don’t even like oysters but I like theirs. They are amazing). We would check out some of the parks in north Georgia, hit an arcade and bowling alley. Go skating. Grab dinner and hookah at Divans. May stop by Havana to dance a bit then may head to some late night spots to watch some entertainment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I have to shoutout God. I am nothing without God. Next is my mom. Without her, I not only wouldn’t be here but I definitely wouldn’t be the woman I am today. I also will like shoutout everyone who has been apart of my journey from my close friends to business partners to all of my followers. I appreciate you all.
