Meet Jasmine Young | Comedian & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
For starters the main reason I chose an artistic and creative career path is because that’s what flows through my veins. It’s who I am and what I enjoy doing. I love creating my feelings through my creative work. I like to reciprocate things through the form of art because people can grabs that better anyway. I love bring joy to people with laughter or poetry. I have the gift to communicate to the masses and with that gift i want to share that creativity and to share positivity and happiness.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want the world to know that I am a person of authenticity. I am REAL and that’s the only way I know how to be. So that’s the foundation of my brand SHAYTHAALIEN. Even with my comedy, and soon to be t-shirt brand. People resonates with me because they can feel the genuine connection between who I am and what I put out. I never had supportive family and I really had to get it out the mud type situation. I had support from friends of course but, family never supported me and never believed in who I was as a person or my dreams. It made me go harder though because even though the support wasn’t there I made a beautiful family some place else.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite club on the planet is MJQ on Ponce De Leon Ave. It’s such a fun club because it’s like the best of both worlds. You have your hype turned up part of the club then you got the neo soul chilled part. I love it, the drinks are good and the people are fantastic it’s always a great vibe there. Food wise since I’m from Atlanta there’s nothing like WINGS. My favorite wings spot is American Deli on Gresham across from the Walmart. The best wings to me and a place called HUNGRY ASF on candler Rd. They have the best food it don’t matter from the wings to the pasta it’s all good. I love hanging out to museums , arcades, or bowling alleys. So I hangout in pretty general places as long as I have great ENEGRY around me I’m down for whatever.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my sister. Angele Polote she’s always been an amazing supporter and motivating person. So shout out to her for always being a real one.
