We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Coney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growning up I’ve always had a passion for hair and I would always ask my mom and sisters could I play in they’re hair or could I do a style but I never took it too seriously. once I graduated high school and I needed a part-time job while in college I started working at a beauty supply, and my love for her grew even more. so I started taking hair more seriously and I started doing my friends and doing my my family’s hair to grow my skills and then I started posting on my social medias, and people always would tell me how good I did, and then I started putting myself out there and started a different Instagram account just for hair content. Now I have clients in Valdosta and back home in Dublin ga.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think being an artist is all about being yourself and being true in that and for me, I show my art and so many ways not only in my hairstylist but I’m also a model. I will have to say modeling has truly brought my confidence out. I feel like I wouldn’t even be pursuing hair or just pursuing any of my dreams without modeling. I will have to say Modeling has truly brought my confidence out. I feel like I wouldn’t even be pursuing hair or just pursuing any of my dreams without modeling. I was in a deep depression last spring semester where my friend had left I feel like I didn’t have any friends at the time I was stuck in my room all the time and I heard about this modeling from another close friend and I went to the interest meeting meeting and they was talking about how if you join the troop you again you will learn how to model, but not only that you will make friends and gain confidence and that’s what I need to hear at the time because I felt like I didn’t have any confidence at that time . So I joined and all those things they said that was gonna happen came fruition and I was more confident then I ever thought I could ever be. I made beautiful friendships and they started supporting me and spread my page. Now I combine being a hairstylist with Modeling. Sometime I do most of my troop, members hair or given my clients advice on how to pose when I take their pictures for content
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OK I will have to say passage to India, which is the Indian spot very authentic and very hardy delicious measl. I also recommend the mix its a spot if you want to just have a little chill time and where you can eat some frozen yogurt is real tasty.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
