Meet Kai Marion | Music Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kai Marion and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kai, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking Risks is what defined who I am as an artist and person. It’s shaped and molded me into the well driven person I am today. Sacrificing my time and energy to perform and create things has been such a struggle but I don’t regret it. Working a 9 to 5 in your late 20s while trying to be the next big artist on top of getting hit with life’s sprinkle of trauma….yea that’s normal 🤣. People don’t realize how much it takes to simply go after your dreams. You literally have no one but yourself…no one sees what you see and you have to “prove” to higher ups that you’re worth it….BOOOOO. I say screw that! I finally gotten to the point to where I don’t even care to take risks unless it’s for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I created Kai Marion the brand to let anyone who ever feels different or detached feel understood. It’s way deeper than just making music and having a song go viral. I want to bring my community up and empower them. As I step back into the scene I am excited about the new people I will interact with and the new art I will make. I have been creating some of the most vulnerable music I’ve ever made.
I took a hiatus to really take time for myself and my mental health. I created a graduation anthem that can & WILL cultivate the nation. It was so overwhelming for me. Getting back into the swing of things and basically having to rebrand myself was a struggle. Still is! I’m basically getting back in these same uncomfortable spaces to say “THIS IS WHY KAI MARION IS WORTH IT”…..and it’s scary….

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first…..I would take them to where I am from. Lithonia,Ga the outskirts and show them how I became who I am today. Definitely gotta hit up the Jamaican spot on Covington Highway. Do brunch at the Hive with some more people…walk around the city for sure. It’s so much to do here it’s kind of a run and gun type situation. Just go where ever the wind takes us….thats what I love about Atlanta…it’s always something to do. Little Five Points for sure….OHHHHH Ramen Bar in Sandy Springs on Abernathy ROAD AGHH…yo that place so good….

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout GOD first and foremost. My dear family….Ma and Poodah I love you deep. I want to shout out Georgia State University and the organizations within the university who believed in me more than I believed in myself. Y’all have know idea what that meant to me during my hiatus. MTM Standard, N.C.E.G., KingEdward Ent. , Adia Entertainment. My friends and family who has always supported me.
