We had the good fortune of connecting with Chevonne Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chevonne, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
“You get to decide the legacy you leave.” That’s about as simple a statement as it gets, right? (Calling Captain Obvious!) Of course, your actions, your behavior, your commitment, the effort you put in, your innovation, your creation is that “thing” that you will leave behind. Legacy can be tricky because it doesn’t matter what you want people to remember you by because you have different experiences with different people. I can honestly just hope that people can remember me by being Kind, caring, a risk taker, someone who didn’t allow a soul to tell her who she can and can’t be. My legacy will be just being a Carefree creative who spoke threw her art.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a creative getting people in Atlanta to take you serious is SLIM! It seems as if everyone is in competition with one another and I think that’s what sets me apart. I want to see EVERYONE go after their dreams and goals and really go for it without any doubts. I have learned that not everyone is going to support you or your visions but it’s up to you to zone those haters out and focus on what makes you happy. The world will know who I am very soon. The World will know that I am Fearless and my art will speak for itself.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First things first BRUNCH. Me and my bestfriend love a good mimosa so we will head to Fins and Feathers on Edgewood, second stop because we both love the arts we head to the High Art Museum and of course create a small mini photo shoot since I carry my camera EVERYWHERE. After the High Museum she most likely would want to take a nap so we would go back home nap for like an hour or two then it’s lunch time. For lunch we head to my all time favorite Cuban spot called Papis Cuban and grill. After lunch we go back home and plan what we want to do for the night so we choose a nice chill lounge and it’s between Kiss Ultra lounge or Apple Lounge.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Whew! I have came into contact with so many amazing people who have pushed me to become the creative I am today but I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to two people! First I would like to shoutout my Best friend Uly! Without her ALWAYS making sure that I’m having fun with my craft but also making sure I save and stay focused on my craft as well I don’t know where I would be in life or in my work. My Second Shoutout is dedicated to my AMAZING Girlfriend Millie! She has literally been my inspiration, my muse, the person who makes sure my camera battery is charged before every photoshoot. Millie and Uly have been the Top two people who really just makes sure I’m doing ok at all times and for that I’m beyond grateful!
