We had the good fortune of connecting with Letitia McIntosh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Letitia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
“The reason for starting my film production management company stems from my deep passion for storytelling. Having previously owned an IT Training company in the 90s, My entire professional career centered around training and information technology. I’ve now decided to channel my entrepreneurial spirit into the realm of film. I believe in the power of compelling stories to captivate audiences and evoke emotions.

Through my experience in the industry, I’ve recognized the challenges that independent filmmakers face in bringing their visions to life. My goal is to provide a dedicated platform for these talented individuals, assisting them in creating impactful films, documentaries, short films, and television series. I am committed to fostering a creative environment that nurtures unique voices and allows storytellers to thrive.

By supporting independent filmmakers, I aim to contribute to the diversity and richness of the film industry. I am excited to be part of the journey of bringing meaningful stories to the screen and helping filmmakers achieve their artistic and commercial goals.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My entire career spans 20 years in the Information Technology field. My professional experience focused on service delivery and training for large organizations such as Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. I have also worked for a Global Outsourcing company, based in Brazil. The role I was responsible for focused on onboarding new associates. I coordinated, designed and delivered the technical content, with an additional emphasis on soft-skills and customer service. I was involved in the launch of a new service delivery site in Romania and Manila. I traveled to Makati City four times in a 16-month time period. This experience prepared me to transition into a variety of roles. Although I have encountered many challenges, I now can organize large projects with many moving parts. I learned how to navigate remote management with ease simply by applying the skills I developed to facilitate and design a creative workflow process.

I started DFour4 Productions LLC in 2020, and I am committed to wholesome creativity across the board I firmly believe that quality and palatable productions can be realized without compromising commercial appeal.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I often give people a tour of Atlanta, because so many people want to see all aspects of the city. I take people to the riverwalk, and show them the statue of the slaves that point to Canada, because people don’t think about the boarder being part of the underground railroad that provided a way out of slavery. I also take people to the Motown Museum, and let them see the iconic music history. So many food options are available, but the one we are widely known for are the Coney Island restraunts. However, we have some chains only found in Detroit, like Savvey Sliders and Starters. Lastly, I take people to enjoy the night life, which often centers around the various bar’s and night clubs, as well as Bert’s Place in Eastern Market and the three casinos.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am very grateful for all the people who are instrumental in helping me on my journey. My friends and family have supported my effort, some helped financially and some supported by attending my film premieres, film festivals, being an actor or extra in a production, allowing me to use a location to film in, or just simply watching the first feature film I produced, which is a boxing movie, and now it is streaming on Tubi (Made For this).

A special thank you goes out to Dad (George T.), Yolonda, Ira, Maunda, Samara, Michele, Sharon Ann, Jessica, Regina, Curt, Larry, Steve, Brendan, Kevin, Travis, Bishop Lloyd, Charles, Foxx, Herb, Donna, Toni, Natalie, Robbena, Yvette, Blue, Randy, Black, Keith, Deb, Felicia, David, Darryl, Sylvia, Jeff, Mr. Mike, Horatio, Alicia, and Gigi.
