Meet Nzinga Shaw | President & CEO, Attack the Glass, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nzinga Shaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nzinga, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The genesis of Attack the Glass, LLC was born out of a profound belief in the transformative power of diversity and the recognition that fostering an inclusive environment is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic advantage for individuals and organizations. As the founder, my thought process behind starting this organization was grounded in a vision to create a platform that goes beyond conventional approaches to diversity, offering a comprehensive set of tools and strategies to propel meaningful change.
The name “Attack the Glass” embodies the proactive and assertive stance we take in addressing diversity challenges. Like a team relentlessly pursuing rebounds on the basketball court, our mission is to relentlessly pursue diversity and inclusion, breaking down barriers and overcoming obstacles.
Attack the Glass serves as a vehicle for advancing diversity through a multifaceted approach. We recognize that true inclusivity requires more than surface-level efforts; it demands a comprehensive strategy that addresses various aspects of organizational culture and personal development. Our initiatives include offering educational tools, facilitating training sessions, providing executive coaching, and identifying untapped talent.
Educational tools form the foundation of our approach, equipping individuals and organizations with the knowledge and understanding needed to navigate the complexities of diversity. Through curated content, workshops, and resources, we aim to broaden perspectives and cultivate a culture of continuous learning.
Our training sessions are designed to be interactive, engaging, and tailored to the unique needs of each client. By fostering open dialogues and providing practical tools, we empower participants to navigate diversity challenges with confidence, empathy, and cultural competence.
Executive coaching is a key component of our strategy, recognizing that leadership plays a pivotal role in shaping organizational culture. Our coaching services are designed to guide leaders in embracing inclusive practices, fostering diversity in decision-making, and cultivating environments where all voices are heard and valued.
Identifying untapped talent is a commitment to recognizing and nurturing the diverse skills and perspectives that may go unnoticed in traditional talent pipelines. We believe that every individual brings a unique set of experiences and strengths, and by identifying and promoting untapped talent, we contribute to building more dynamic and innovative teams.
Through these initiatives, Attack the Glass aims to empower individuals and organizations to embrace diversity as a cornerstone for realizing their full potential. The positive impact of diversity on personal and organizational growth is a central theme in our philosophy. Our experiences leading this organization have provided a firsthand understanding of the intricate intersections of diversity and the profound influence it can have on fostering creativity, driving innovation, and enhancing overall well-being.
In essence, Attack the Glass was founded on the belief that diversity is not merely a checkbox or a compliance requirement but a catalyst for positive change and sustainable success. We remain committed to advancing diversity, inclusion, and equity, and we look forward to continuing our journey of empowerment and transformation with individuals and organizations that share our vision.
