We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from a place where every Saturday is ‘All Blues Saturday’—Mobile, Alabama. Growing up in Alabama, I was surrounded by Southern music, food, and art. The Gulf Coast holds a special place in my heart due to the water and the comfort of my community. The slow, easygoing energy of the city manifests in my approach to work. I follow my heart and consider how my growth impacts my community. I look around to see who is doing similar things around me and collaborate to reach our dreams.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pinned Music is a creative studio for artists and entertainers, offering creative production services through the lens of art direction. Originating as a digital music festival in 2021, Pinned has evolved to support creativity as we continue to grow. We take pride in fostering an online community and supporting emerging talent in Atlanta.

One of my most significant accomplishments this year with Pinned was reaching the finals of Pharrell’s Black Ambition Prize—an impactful non-profit initiative aimed at closing the opportunity and wealth gap through entrepreneurship. Immersed in the program, I found my passion for expanding Pinned into something more substantial that contributes to the growth of the creative market. Starting a business, especially as a creative, is no easy feat. However, armed with a solid mission, I am confident that we will reach new heights.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Welcome to Atlanta, my friend. We would start our morning with a walk at Piedmont Park, grab a smoothie from Arden’s Garden, and check out some art at the High Museum of Art. We could take some pictures at Cam Kirk Studios, discuss our career goals at Be Social, and enjoy dinner from somewhere at Ponce City Market. To cap off the day, we might catch an independent show at the Underground, Aisle 5, or Garage on Huff.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am without the communities that support me. In my creative story, organizations like Howard Players and Models of the Mecca helped me explore my curiosity at Howard University . One School helped me make sense of all the ideas in my head, Black Ambition helped me dream like a visionary. My girls keep me down to earth.
