We had the good fortune of connecting with Karen Díaz Cisneros and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was deeply rooted in my passion for improving healthcare services, particularly in the multicultural landscape of the United States. Having worked extensively in the healthcare technology sector throughout South America, I witnessed firsthand the challenges that healthcare providers and patients faced daily. However, I also recognized that the United States, with its diverse and multicultural population, presented unique healthcare communication challenges.
In a country as diverse as the United States, effective healthcare communication is even more critical. Patients from various cultural backgrounds may have different expectations, languages, and healthcare literacy levels. I knew there had to be a better way to streamline healthcare communications and improve patient care outcomes while considering this rich tapestry of cultures.
By founding BotOn Health, my aim was to leverage cutting-edge technology to bridge the communication gap between healthcare providers and patients in this diverse environment. I believed that a B2B software platform, powered by artificial intelligence, could not only enhance efficiency but also cater to the diverse linguistic and cultural needs of patients. My passion for creating positive change in healthcare, coupled with a strong belief in the potential of AI technology, motivated me to embark on this entrepreneurial journey. I wanted to make a meaningful impact, particularly in the context of multiculturalism in the United States, and transform the way care is delivered, ultimately leading to better healthcare experiences for everyone involved.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
BotOn Health is a dynamic and innovative venture that is redefining healthcare communication through AI-powered solutions. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to improving the way care is delivered in the healthcare industry. Our dedication to optimizing, engaging, and automating communications between patients and healthcare providers is what makes us unique.
What I’m most proud of and excited about is the impact we’ve had on the healthcare sector. Our solutions have tackled critical issues such as reducing patient no-shows, improving collections for healthcare providers, automating paperwork processes, and decreasing bed turnover times. This has translated into more efficient healthcare delivery, better patient experiences, and significant cost savings for healthcare providers. Witnessing the real-world benefits of our technology is incredibly rewarding.
Getting to where we are today wasn’t easy. We faced numerous challenges, especially in a highly regulated and complex industry like healthcare. But we overcame these obstacles through perseverance, creativity, and a dedicated team. The key lesson I’ve learned is that challenges are opportunities in disguise. They pushed us to innovate and refine our solutions continuously.
We are very excited to have reached this point in our journey, as we are now on the verge of piloting our solutions with several major healthcare centers that understand the value of patient communication and the overall patient experience. It’s a significant milestone for us.
Additionally, we are thrilled to share that we recently won the HIMSS pitch competition in both the operational efficiency and overall categories. This achievement has provided us with a strong entry point into the North American market, and we are eager to make a big impact.
I want the world to know that BotOn Health is more than a business; it’s a mission to transform healthcare for the better. We’re committed to delivering the highest quality of care, making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and cost-effective for all. We’re driven by our passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve real-world healthcare issues. One critical aspect of our mission is to bridge the gap that often exists between healthcare centers and patients who may not speak the language or fully understand the healthcare processes. We aim to be the guiding light for those who need assistance, ensuring that language barriers or unfamiliarity with procedures no longer stand in the way of receiving quality healthcare. This inclusivity and accessibility are at the core of our mission and define our commitment to a better future for healthcare.
Our brand is synonymous with trust, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We’re excited about the future, as we continue to expand our footprint, collaborate with visionary partners, and make a profound difference in the world of healthcare. Our story is one of resilience, vision, and a commitment to leaving a lasting legacy of positive change in the healthcare industry
