We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiara M. Tucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiara M., what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is that I took the time to seek, understand and now own my purpose in life. When this happened, I started boldly, relentlessly and unapologetically walking in it. I became more focused, dedicated and consistent to my brand and dreams. Being serious about walking in your purpose keeps you up at night and wakes you up in the morning. It makes you want to keep moving forward even when you don’t know what lies ahead (faith). It brings your name up in rooms that you haven’t even walked in yet. It adds a seat for you at tables that you didn’t think you were qualified to sit at. It brings you provision (people, resources, blessings, etc) to help you fulfil your vision. It makes you not worry about who is for you and who is against you because you know that if you are doing what you feel led to do, everything eventually falls into place. This doesn’t mean it will be easy because it isn’t supposed to be. But, I have to believe that every positive aspect along my journey, combined with every obstacle, challenge, setback, hurdle, disappointment, betrayal, and rejection, is a part of the master plan! I know that God created me to make a difference in the world, and to use my voice and platforms to empower myself and others to live their best lives despite what is going on in the world. For these reasons and more, I keep going because I trust and believe the best is yet to come.

What should our readers know about your business?
I like to play off of my name and say that I am the wearer of many “tiaras.” To name a few, outside of my 16-year career in Corporate America where I am currently a Public Affairs Communications Specialist, I am a PR strategist, empowering (and loud) global speaker, event creator/host, panel moderator, empowerment life coach, social justice activist, mental health advocate, philanthropist, and the visionary founder and CEO of my babies, Tiara PR Network, LLC, Speak That! Movement, Inc, and now Speak That! Talks! I love to connect people via my empowering events, guest speakers, novelties, communications, and my voice. After years of working on PR, communications, events, and consulting, I decided to more formally structure my business and call it Tiara Public Relations (PR) Network, LLC. It made me feel official! My most notable PR experiences include my “behind the scenes” work in the battle against social justice inequalities and police brutality. I have worked alongside some of the nation’s most well-known civil rights attorneys, as well as among nationally-known social justice activists. I am occasionally called on for PR strategy and PR/media coordination for very high-profile and media-saturated cases. I have been responsible for overseeing local, national and international media relationships. I have also been the event chair and PR coordinator for multiple high-caliber events, as well as the fun and intimate family/friend gatherings. In addition to Tiara PR Network, I passionately lead my charitable organization, Speak That! Movement, which was originally created in my home state of Illinois as an empowerment spoken word community event called “Speak That!” It evolved into a movement after I moved to Dallas and I evolved to a more focused woman in business to empower, uplift and connect business professionals and believers. For the past few years, I have specifically focused on targeting professional women in business because I recognize there are obstacles and roadblocks we face and overcome along our journeys of dream and goal realization. After over a decade of hosting numerous empowerment and social events, in 2020 I launched the Speak That! Movement Empowerment Socials to connect people desiring to live their best lives – and then COVID hit. That allowed me to evolve again and test out creating and hosting virtual events, which has changed the game for me! As a result of just wanting to pause and TALK on Facebook Live during COVID, I became the creator, host and executive producer of Speak That! Talks, which are my weekly live virtual events created to empower, uplift and virtually connect people all over the world via my unscripted TALKs with special guest speakers. This also includes my PR passion because I am working with a variety of business professionals from all over the nation and creating a platform for them to share their message in front of large audiences. My goal with this emerging effort is to bring positivity, hope and fun to people when we need it most. My journey has had it’s mountain-high moments (and I truly have escaped to Denver to hike a mountain as a mindfulness practice) and valley-low moments (when I couldn’t get out of bed), but I wouldn’t change anything. I have had the most amazing experiences and opportunities ever! I’ve also had hardships and battles with anxiety while going after my dreams and wanting to live my best life. There were many days when I wanted to give up and questioned why I was trying to make a difference in this world. I remember smiling big but silently hurting even more when I didn’t understand why I was feeling the way I was feeling. I mean, life was great, but I didn’t always feel great all of the time and I didn’t understand why. When I got out of my pit by focusing on mindfulness, speaking life over myself, shifting my mindset, expanding my circles, and some other things, I declared I would not give up on myself, my visions, my dreams, or my goals. I dedicated my life to supporting and empowering others along their journeys. To keep my mind fresh and allow me to help even more people in more ways, since 2019 I have attained a Certificate in Mindfulness, a Certificate in Life Coaching, and I am currently enrolled at Harvard University. My goal as an empowerment speaker, coach and entrepreneur is to use my voice and platforms to help combat mental health roadblocks and social injustice detours along one’s journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our “new norm” itinerary consists of deciding if we want to stay in the house to be safe. But if we feel comfortable, we are getting dressed up and hitting the city for good food, gorgeous beverages, beautiful ambiance, and live music (with masks to match our outfits).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that I have to shoutout, but I definitely don’t want to leave anyone out. With that said, I’ll start by shouting out everyone who has ever supported any of my efforts, events or thoughts in any way. They keep me encouraged because they confirm that turning a thought into a reality can greatly impact other people. I must shoutout my immediate family (parents, sisters, nieces, and nephews) because we are bonded for life, through thick and thin, and they keep me grounded and give me reasons to smile. Most importantly, I must shoutout all of the people who do not/did not support some of my dreams and desires (No love lost), my silent haters (I love yall), and the leaders who made me feel I wasn’t good enough for opportunities, or I didn’t have what it took based on their subjective opinions. These people are all the real MVPS because every “no” or questionable act from these people only made me dream bigger, strive for more and create my own opportunities.
