We had the good fortune of connecting with Elisabeth White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elisabeth, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my businesses in July 2020 during the pandemic. Honestly, just like most people I did an excessive amount of online shopping. I kept seeing charm bracelets and instantly feel in love with them. After purchasing a couple of different bracelets I decided to jump on YouTube and learn how to make them. Now the rest is history. What started off as just making charm bracelets has grown into a business where we now offer different styles of bracelets for men , women and children.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently a social worker and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be able to serve my community. In Fall 2020 I received a bachelors of science in Social Work from Eastern Kentucky University but I did not begin working in my career until the end of 2021. Upon graduating I was working at Zaxbys and struggles to find a job. Truthfully the year after graduating up until 2022 was extremely hard for me. The transition was very uncomfortable I began to lose hope and wondered when i would begin my career. Reflecting on that I believe God used that time to teach me Patience and prepare me for my now. This has also been encouraging for me when it comes to The Pretty Palace. Building a brand from the ground up can have its ups and downs. However it’s important to have patience, believe in yourself and commit to staying consistent.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from Lexington, Ky where’s there’s not a whole lot to do but enough have a good time. My bestie and I are foodies so I would forsure take her to josannes, blue skillet, the local taco, creole cafe, soul to go, mama tequila & genesis coffe house and eatery.

Some hangout spots we would hit would be lex live, main event , cocktails, creaux , comedy off Broadway, & grey line station. A few of these place have live bands & Djs at times so I would hope to catch local talents such as Honey child, Raecamp band, DJ Chunks Da hotel Labi, DJ YK, DJ Knockout, DJ Priddy, & DJ Jaewest.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my cousin Torri. I’m remember being a young girl and hearing my family share many things that she was apart and did but I didn’t realize how much she was working. Now as an adult I get to see wear the hats of many roles such as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and etc. while maintaining a full time job and other side jobs. I had a conversation with her a while back and recall telling her she’s one of the reasons i attempt to do anything I want because I’ve watched her try multiple things and succeed in them. That’s my cousin honey ! I love her so much !
