We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashanti Lett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashanti, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When starting my thought process was leaning more towards survival. In 2018, I started selling lashes outside of my dorm room to fellow classmates to generate income because we all know every college kid is “broke””, so I thought if I started a business for myself I wouldn’t be broke anymore and will have the options to be able to explore other opportunities. I also wanted to connect with the women around me & selling cosmetics helped me achieve that goal!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a 2022 college graduate! I attended the Columbus State University and recognized my Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science. As of now in my career, I am a “Nurse Extrern” with the Wellstar Health System of Marietta. My next goal is to attend an accelerated nursing program to receive my RN certifications. I am most proud of how far I have came, this journey was not easy but I feel like I made it out already. There were plenty of sleepless nights of doing homework, stressing over assignments, and also dealing with family issues along the way but I remained focus. The biggest lesson I learned was that nobody can take your education away from you. Think about it, everything you have right now can be confiscated except your knowledge! What I want the world to know about me & my brand is that you can do anything you put your mind to & to never give up on yourself because if I can do it under the circumstances life has handed me over the years (& im only 23) anyone can, and to also keep God 1st with any and everything you do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If one of my friends were coming to the A for a vacation the first apot I would take them to is First Watch or Toast on Lenox for brunch and we’d most likely gwet tons of mimosas!!! To have a good time and enjoy ourselves, I would probably take my friend to 1145 lounge or Zari. Those spots are always lit everytime I go so I know it would be no different! While my company is here I would also take the to Stonecrest Mall to check out my family’s brand & possible support and rep it in their city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my Uncle Rell a.k.a King Fresh!!! My uncle is a well know entrepreneur in Atlanta and his passion & effort that he puts into his projects has definitely motivated me to follow in the same footsteps if not similar. Also I would like to shoutout my classmates at Fort Valleg State University the year of 2018 & 2019. I received so much support this year from my peers and it really boosted my sales and also helped me gain more exposure! Lastly, my Youtube supporters THANKYOU. Starting out I was very discouraged on becoming a “Youtuber” because it can be a lot of pressure but I now have 200+ subscribers so I guess im doing pretty well on there lol!!!
