We had the good fortune of connecting with Gareth Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gareth, what matters most to you?
Transparency in Art:

From what the true risks are, what the real financial rewards are (or are not) leading into vulnerability when time to create our Art (from a spiritual place).

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Musically, my art is called Intellectual Soul. Designed to make you think and inspire you to feel a spiritual connection to the message of the song while grooving to the melodic rhythms of the songs. Visually, through different versions of film, it’s called Real Life Scoring. Taking real life topics and attempting to give them life and musical score properties. The goal is to counter act some of the popularized, sensationalized and often negative scripted reality TV dramas. Real Life Scoring shows a more true depiction of positive and negative qualities of our people and the world in which we have heavily influenced. We don’t shy away from topics of sex, violence or dysfunction, however, we balance it with actual suggestions of how to address these issues. Our messages are influenced and even reviewed by mental health professionals in an effort to use our work as tools for folks that may not other-wise be opened to assistance. Was it easy? No, and it still is not! This is a lane that most are not in and at times is difficult to cut through the mass amount of clutter taking advantage of the negative, dramatic subject matters to capture a larger buying audience. But this is my calling and I’m thankful for the few creatives that create with me and the loyal following we have amassed so far.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Any of my friends will want to eat well, relax and stimulate their mind and spirits. I work constantly so my work environment is normally very accommodating with perks such as in office massages, manicures, pedicures and dine in options. So he would be able to schedule those things as well if hanging out at my studio location. I would also stay near the downtown ATL area to be more central and also get around without being stuck in traffic- yes I believe in Lyft/Uber and private driver services, lol! We would spend the week bouncing between the following for drinks, food and culture- Chef Rob’s Cafe & Bar, Barneys for some great breakfast or lunch, check out the renovated downtown areas of Marietta and Woodstock, Drumz N Flatz for some great wings, workout with my Trainers Geo the Great and Chris Gibbs, checkout St. James for some good live jazz, meditation at a monastery I frequent and most of all set him up to be able to laze around in seclusion or with his lady (most of my friends are in committed relationships)- all of my friends work hard and need down time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
