We had the good fortune of connecting with Carefreeblkboy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carefreeblkboy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Growing up my only dreams was making it to the league or running track for team USA. Senior year of highschool changed my life drastically. I did research on some fashion houses, styling & watched tons of fashion shows from Gucci to ThomBrowne. Once I got to college I embraced the creative world and switched up my look. Started dyeing my hair, wearing different fabrics and patterns. After receiving tons of positive feedback on my looks, I knew this world was for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a man of many talents that I never knew exist. What sets me apart from others is my image. My girlfriend dye my hair and switch the design up weekly. I used to hate attention but now I just embrace it because it’s make me who I am and is there reason why people love me because I’m unapologetically myself. This journey wasn’t hasn’t been easy at all with my brand. Moving to Atlanta I told myself I’m on GO MODE! I reached out to PLENTY of celebs/influencers just to style them for an event, photoshoot, anything to create content and build my lookbook. Falynn Pina from RHOA gave me a chance and let me style her the cover of her book. My story has a lot of cracks in it but I never let things kill my passion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Atlanta, ima always hit Harold’s for the chicken and $5 drinks lol. I go to museums, parks, bowling. But mostly I like to vibe in the crib and create. Outside too expensive

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That’s tough because I have a long list of people to thank. I took lots of risk just to see myself come this far & I have a group of people that took that risk with me. Overall, my girlfriend gets credit and recognition from me everyday. She opened my eyes to a lot that I never knew about myself and my character. She deserves credit daily just for pushing me to get this far.
