We had the good fortune of connecting with Demetrius Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demetrius, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal for my career is to be fully shooting fashion & celeb work. I want to focus on creating interesting visuals wether it be editorials for magazine covers. To everyday content for celebrity clients. Thats always been the end goal for me in photography.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think my art has finally found its niche. I think my creative editorials set me apart along with my toning & angles. I really get into personal projects & make them exactly how I see them. I think I got to where I am in my professional career by networking 24/7. For me networking & talking to strangers comes so easy. I also started this when I was sixteen. So over the years it’s has gotten easier to plug & sell myself to anyone. I want the world to know that my brand is forever growing. My brand stands for creativity, acceptance, & all things fashion. I feel as though I’m just getting started in my fashion photography career. So i’m excited to show everyone some new stuff soon.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is so diverse and has so much to offer. For sure on my list would start with a sight seeing of all the iconic ATL places. MLK house, Downtown, Beltline, & ponce. Food wise we would have to hit up papas cuban, El progresso, Fritti, & varsity just because its a institution. I think you can find anything in Atlanta that is truly iconic. We have so many hidden gems in every neighborhood. Thats one of the coolest things here. You can go from Edgewood to old forth ward to Inman park & etc. All within 10 minutes of each other and get total different vibes. It’s truly a city for everyone.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest shoutout I have to give is to my late grandmother & mom. My grandmother always told all of my cousins to shoot for the moon. In whatever we get into 100% try your best because you never know. My mom also in a since always since I was two inspired me. She never let me as a kid diminish my huge dreams. She always said ” never make your dreams smaller for anyone.”
