We had the good fortune of connecting with Renae Navy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renae, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I believe that if your working towards something that your passionate about DON’T give up. Yes you will have time when you feel like giving up but always remember the reason why you even started in the first place , that should always be your motivation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love the passion I have for the music I make, I like the risk I take for not being scared to share my emotions through my music and I think that’s what sets me apart from others. My raps are real and raw truth. The good , the bad the ugly. I am most proud of how my music videos and fan base is growing, I truly love the work and creativity that goes behind each music video I put out. I got where I am today professionally , from me working at a law firm and in the club as a bottle girl/server it taught me a lot in different ways it was a great balance of professionalism even though its two different lifestyles. It wasn’t easy because I use to be shy and not like to talk to people unless I was comfortable. I overcame that by having to work with people day and night serving them. I’ve learned to listen more than talk , and to understand that its not always about what you know its who you know, networking will get you very far in life. I want the world to know that if you follow your dreams and not let your doubts get the best of you, You’ll always win.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite place to visit is Jamaica and Mexico. Beach vibes , nice resorts or villas. Every place I travel to I love to try new food so I research restaurants and I plan actives whatever excursions is available I always plan for one of the days of the trip dedicated to that.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a Shoutout to DJ LooseKid and Young Scholar, Those 2 guys pushed me to start rapping when I was younger. Dj Loose kid is a big brother to me who is now plies official DJ. He knew me since I was a kid and would take me to shows in tallahesses that he worked at being a DJ, He learned that I had a passion for music from one day I was in his room with one of my sisters rapper and free styling over a beat. Since that moment its been up! I met Young Scholar while I was working in Beacham Night Club in downtown Orlando and that’s when things really started to pop off he would play my music in the club and he was one of the biggest radio host in Orlando for 104.5 the beat. He interviewed me one time for artist of the week and gave me alot of opportunities in the city. We worked events together he put me on to hosting parties at the club every month for first Mondays and I would get all my new music played. Working at the beacham helped me a lot I met a lot of DJ’s, Promoters and people in the that line of work. Also my mom and my sisters always knew i wanted to be a singer when I was younger so they always pushed me and encouraged me to do music.
