We had the good fortune of connecting with 3miles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi 3miles, what do you want your legacy to be?
Become your art. I want my legacy to reflect my art and my desire to positively effect the world through artistic endeavors. I’d like to be a shining light and example of how to successfully become an artist and remain true to your vision. Creating a legacy is something I’ve always deeply considered and something I’ve felt is one of the most important journeys one can take. Your legacy is your life after death, it’s the way people remember your brief existence on the planet. I hope to carve my legacy within the rock of time, however superficial. Maybe my journey can influence or guide the next artist taking the leap into the unknown. The darkness of chasing a dream, and the illumination of finally achieving it. The beauty is the duality of passion, with your legacy being the dried brush strokes on the canvas of life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, I’ve always believed my art is different. I musically grew up in the 2016 Soundcloud era, which produced thousands of clones and artists who lack their own vision. I believe I stand out from that crowd, vocally I’m extremely acrobatic, jumping from flows and cadences effortlessly. I’m not boxed in by a sound or instrumental type and excel when the instrumental is as weird as possible. I enjoy challenging myself when it comes to creating art, I believe it’s conducive to making the most impactful art. My art also tackles many subjects that a lot of artist coming from my generation and subgenre aren’t interested in discussing. Things like loss, grief, and the feeling of chasing something you’ll never achieve. These all make me unique within the musical landscape and I believe that’s what will draw people to my new project “3million Man”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My fav food spot right now (cause it changes constantly) has to be Southern Fire Kitchen. They have the craziest soul food you’ll ever try. The yams are amazing. I’d probably take them to the Aquarium or World of Coke if they’re trying to be touristy. If they want a real feel of the city I’d take them to Little Five points to shop. After that we hitting the studio, we’re goin to my boy’s crib. Then I guess we’d have to do night life shit, so I’d take them either to Buckhead if they’re on their frat life party shit or Compound/ Eleven45 to get some drinks then we’d have to hit the strip club at some point probably either Blue flame of Magic City.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to several groups of people who have encouraged me and influenced my journey. First starting with my friends and family. They are the foundation to who “3miles” is. My parents are a direct influence on my creativity and how I view the world. They believed in me before I understood what I wanted to do, and they were a guiding hand in leading me to pursue my dreams. My friends pushed me to create with more passion, introduced me to new sounds and influences, and believed in me when I doubted myself more than anyone. I am also included within 2 music collectives. Iced Out Angels and FlightCrew. Both have given me immeasurable support, by providing me with collaboration and giving me their faith that I’ll excel on any one of their instrumentals has granted me the confidence to be myself, and express my own creativity to the fullest. Lastly I’d like to shoutout me, 3m, cause without me I don’t know what I’d do.
