We had the good fortune of connecting with Timm Knight and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Timm, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
To be honest the creative arts choose me. And I’m glad it happened that way as opposed to me chasing after something that seemed cool to do because others are doing it. This created a relentless desire to get all of the ideas from music, books, and films out of my head and into the proper format to reach the people it’s supposed to reach. Considering art is rather subjective if I didn’t love to express myself I would have given up a long time ago. Most often, it’s very little return on investment but I hold onto the thought that I only have to win one time. So I don’t waste time trying to figure out which lane will open up I just create whatever inspires me at the moment and trust for the best outcome. Case in point, I just completed the official trailer for a limited TV series called “Hip Hop Murder Mysteries” which if you like to support or learn more you can visit the link https://youtu.be/aIwnnkFQldY This is a script I wrote four years ago yet the content has remained relevant unto this day. I put a team together and now we have a finished product that will hopefully attract investors. After producing four short films I learned quite a bit along the way that I wish I knew starting out. So I created a beginners course to shorten the learning curve for other aspiring filmmakers https://bit.ly/indieshortcut Switching gears to music, I’ve released two singles so far this year one of which is “Where The Road Leads (Remix) which you can hear https://bit.ly/roadleadsremix As it’s been said. Life’s a risk! That is one of the most accurate statements ever uttered. I took a major risk in moving from New Jersey to Atlanta to build an entertainment empire from scratch. However, at the risk of being an old angry man full of regret telling stories of how it was back in the day or I could’ve done this and that, I decided the reward was worthy of pursuing and I can assure anyone reading this, where there is no risk there is most certainly no reward. So for me, I have no choice but to utilize the gifts the creator place in me for good.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As previously stated I pretty much do it all. Hence, my business is aptly named Timm Knight Unlimited. But specifically, at heart, I would say I’m a writer. Whether writing songs, books, or a screenplay I can always be found creating something. I get great satisfaction from creating something that was only an idea in my mind but becomes tangible for others to enjoy hopefully. My love for reading and researching random information has given me a rather unique world view which I express in my works. I’m still navigating through the entertainment industry with the goal of maintaining my integrity as I interact with others at all levels of the business. Graduating to a position where your work is recognized and actually generates revenue that enables you to continue creating is success in my eyes. Moreover, I’ve accepted a long time ago that challenges are just a part of the process. One of the main challenges is getting others on board with your vision. So finding success in entertainment is not for the faint of heart but if you truly love what you do and don’t quit you will succeed. Lastly, what I want the world to know about me is that I am actually concerned about the people in this world which is why I make the content I make.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow! This is a load question because that is one of the best aspects of living in Atlanta. There’s so much to do! As far as food a few stops that are a must are Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Takorea in Dunwoody, Halal Guys, Los Bravos, Ippolito’s, and Johnny’s New York Pizza. I’ll stop there because it’s way too many to name. Far as hanging out Suite Lounge, Sage, The Painted Pin, Twin Peaks, Illuminarium is also on the itinerary. But I would leave plenty of room to be spontaneous.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Jerome Dorn. I consider Jerome my mentor and main supporter placed directly in my path to insure that I keep the faith on this journey to the top.
