We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Simon Sr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Jamie has had a particular interest in the interface between mental health and generational poverty. The role that education, mentoring and indigenous leadership can play. His goal is to help people feel better about themselves in order to promote positive self-esteem.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Jamie Simon Sr, is a native from Lafayette La. He developed a passion for “barber life” at the age of 15. When his grandfather allowed him to borrow a pair of clippers. After cutting the hair of his friends, family and any willing person who would sit in his chair. Jamie decided to become a professional barber and opened his first barbershop in 2015. He moved to Houston in 2018 to expand his business and has enjoyed the opportunity to network with fellow barbers in the industry.
What sets Jamie apart from others is his , integrity, honesty, diversity and innovation.
There have been many obstacles along the way. It was difficult to balance growth, time and quality of life. Being a Master Barber and Product Developer has some challenges. But the good outweighs the bad.
