We had the good fortune of connecting with Tessa Farley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tessa, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
So many people who look like us weren’t taught anything about credit, finances, or home ownership. From High School, to College… No one was teaching Financial Literacy! We wanted to get the knowledge and pour it back into our community! Not only to adults, but to children as well. Teach them how to manage and maintain their credit, how to purchase a home! How to be lenders instead of borrowers!

What should our readers know about your business?
TNR Recovery Solutions is a Financial Recovery business in Atlanta Georgia. We started this business with a simple goal, help our community own homes and learn about managing their finances. In 2019, when we first began, we were literally using pencil and paper and going through our client’s credit reports, handwriting letters and sending them off to the credit bureaus. Doing one client’s report would literally take hours, but we were determined to help our clients WIN! It was infuriating that our community was not taught about financial education in school. We were taught home economics, i.e. how to do laundry and bake pies… but not how to be financially mature. At 18 we were tossed out into the world destined to fail financially. TNR was formed to help close that gap. There were so many lessons along the way, we had to learn how to properly and legally challenge the credit bureaus, we had to learn the law fluently, we had to learn how to market our services, and how to manage our time appropriately. In our first year of business, we helped over 40 people purchase homes all over the United States. Our second year of business we doubled that. We are most proud of the success of all our clients that trusted us with their financial journey. Our Brand is based deeply in our faith. We want to serve God’s People with Integrity… We want our clients to become so financially secure they end up firing us! That’s the Goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We absolutely love Atlanta! If our family were visiting from out of town, we would begin our morning at Gutbusters off Cascade Rd in SW Atlanta for a hearty breakfast. We would spend the afternoon decor shopping at Furniture Rugs and More off Old National Hwy, they have the best home decor… We would have Lunch at Nouveau College Park and enjoy some Sweet Potato Waffles and strong Cocktails. We’d then go the Heavenly Foot Massage on Ponce De Leon for a relaxing hour massage. We would finish the evening at FellaShip Atl in Downtown Atlanta for some old school RNB and grown folk’s vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Church has helped shape me into the business woman I am today. My Pastor doesn’t only tell you what the Word says. He speaks about Debt Free Living, Stocks, Investing & so much more! I remember during the Pandemic he taught a series on having multiple streams of Income. My mind has never been the same!
