We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Williams-Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The journey of My Sista Shea began at the beginning of the pandemic when my oldest daughter Raven was assigned a task to create a business plan for her summer youth employment program. Shortly there after we quickly realized that we can turn our dreams into a reality. Fast forward a couple months later My Sista Shea was born. We realized that a skin and hair care line aligned with our journey, because for most of my adult life I suffered with dermatitis. After trying medication, along with  hair care brands that contained harsh and unnatural products we decided to create our own.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Being on this journey with my daughter and seeing the impact we’ve had on our customers has been amazing.

There are so many things that tells us to alter who we are and My Sista Shea is doing the opposite . Our motto is “My Hair Is My Crown, & My Body Is My Canvas” . We believe in embracing who you are and all the things that make you You . Starting with your natural hair and skin. Our products are handcrafted to nourish all skin types and restore its natural glow.

Business hasn’t always been easy but staying true to ourself, and what we believe in along with consistency has been an important factor in our growth. Know matter how far this journey takes us , My Sista Shea will always be committed to using natural products and ingredients.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
While in Atlanta, I would suggest visiting Atlantic Station. This is the perfect place for grabbing a bite to eat, shopping, and catching up with friends. What makes this spot the perfect place is  The Sistah Shop. Create by Aisha specifically to feature products from 100 plus entrepreneurial women of color.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My three daughters Raven , Ania, and Londyn are the inspiration behind MySistaShea. Creating our family business has set a foundation for ownership, creativity, independency, and self acceptance.

We are forever thankful to our team Kimmie, Sasha , and Mama Mary who continuously keep us uplifted, and motivated to keep going.
