We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Modo, PMP, MBA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bianca, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
As we begin to move into a recession, people may think that now is the time to pull back on branding activities. Why? Consumers are considering every dollar they are spending. However, now is the perfect time to refresh your brand and find new ways to interact with your audience. Now is the time to focus on the long-term rewards of brand recognition and innovation. Building your know, like, and trust factor is a continuous effort. Focus on competing against your old methods and give your audience a reason to stay around for the long haul.
Since consumers are careful about their dollar spending, brands should build relationships and give those consumers a reason to keep their brands top of mind. Consumers are constantly searching for solutions to their problems, and with a recession, there will be new challenges that need to be navigated. Build trust with your audience by adapting messaging to why you are the go-to choice in your industry.
Create messages highlighting the value of your products and services so consumers understand why they can’t live without them. Boost loyalty by understanding what consumers really need and personalizing their buyer’s journey. Continue to measure what is working, but don’t reduce your marketing spend! If anything, talk with a branding or marketing expert about gradually increasing your marketing budget to be more efficient and effective.
Brand equity becomes the easy choice when you understand that your brand is not just logos and colors but a visual and emotional representation of how you want to be perceived and how others perceive you. Get very clear about who your audience is and how you will serve them during the recession to increase your chances of success.

After growing multiple businesses for clients and myself, I realized how hard it could be for high-performing leaders to build a brand independently. There are many moving parts in branding; from experience, great design needs an intuitive strategy.
The Bianca Modo Foundation brings global awareness and empowerment to girls and young women who are prone to become or have been victims of sexual violence and abuse, including human trafficking. Our programs aim to help young women who have been victims regain their confidence so they can start their own businesses or learn how to attain a higher-paying career.
My journey as an entrepreneur started with an interest in modeling, creative direction, fashion, and formal education in business and marketing. After graduating from college, I studied for a year in Paris, France getting two Master’s degrees. Over the years, I realized I was an excellent creative project manager. I am also a self-taught photographer. Recognizing my gifts and getting clear on my purpose has been the hardest part of my journey. Once I stopped and ask God who He called me to be instead of focusing on what others wanted me to be, I gained clarity and knew how to go find the coaches and mentors who would help me scale and grow my business with purpose. Normally, when we feel lonely or confused, it’s because we don’t have leaders guiding us in the direction we need to go.
When God gives me assignments, I have learned to put momentum behind those assignments immediately. I do this because I have noticed when I put effort behind projects, no matter how small the effort, it produces great fruit in a short amount of time. I had been putting off writing my book, Unscarred: Prayers for Healing, for years. Once I finally sat down to focus my efforts and energy on writing it in 2018, I was able to finish the book in 13 days and got it edited and published within three months. It immediately reached bestseller status on Amazon, and I had my first local and national TV segment within a month of publishing. Since publishing, I have been featured on the cover of magazines, podcasts, and other media outlets such as Fox 4, The Word Network, Sheen Magazine, and Simply Buckhead, just to name a few.
When we are intentional about what God says about us, it gives Him a chance to put momentum behind our actions. I spent years in a corporate business environment, and I was miserable. I loved the clients but hated feeling constrained and as though my talents were being wasted. I have learned to trust my gut instincts and heart because they lead me to my ultimate destination.
Building, managing, and growing multiple businesses have been challenging, but I decided I wouldn’t quit, and if I didn’t know the answer to my problem, I would commit to finding someone who did. Now, my focus is on delivering value by helping transformational leaders step into who they are called to be. Working with me, they get help understanding why they build the brands they build, how to stand out as authorities in their industry, and how to BE leaders.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to give a shoutout to my parents, who have been the inspiration in my life to go after more. My stepdad taught me not to care what others think about me. My stepmom taught me to lead with my passion and not to be afraid of letting go of things that aren’t meant for me. My mom taught me to stand up for myself, and my dad taught me to forgive and be intentional about the relationships you want to be successful. I also want to thank my mentors, spiritual leaders, and coaches who have helped shape me into the woman of purpose I have become today. I’m also thankful for all my clients and loved ones who have supported me over the years.
