We had the good fortune of connecting with Octavia Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Octavia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to have something to leave behind for my kids to be proud of.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I work a full time job as of right now but my business is my passion. I struggle in this economy but I refuse to give up on my business. It took many years to get to where I am now. This road has not been easy, I will not allow myself to give up. I want my kids to see me fight for everything I want for my business, my brand. I have learned that not everyone is going to like you but it’s okay because some are going to love you. I love to coordinate events and watch people’s visions turn into a reality. I feel honored to be a part of something important in their life. I love modeling, I feel like a totally different person(DCandylady) when I model. The runway is my no judgement, carefree place. I can be whoever I want to be on the runway.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You definitely have to try Grip’s Good Eats on Metropolitan Parkway. It’s in the hood but the food is so good. I have never been disappointed. I would recommend the Illuminarium to. You can get food and drinks there. Really unique place to check out. There is also Rooftop Bar that is really dope with a beautiful rooftop view. People really don’t visit most of the unique places when the travel to Atlanta, they always visit the most popular. I like to explore different things.

Beautiful Brielle(claritysessionsllc) for all the uplifting talks. Recrissha Doxie(White Pearlz Boutique) for all the business talks, encouraging words, always pushing me to do better and be better. Shatoya Stanley(Ms. Anoint Me) for being there at all times of the day and night, all the many prayers, and never leaving me lonely. I would also like to give credit to my son who recently passed, Brayden Q. Harden for giving me even more motivation to not give up on my dreams and goals.
