We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt MOJICA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
As I/we get older I feel as if time gets faster and faster. In order to keep a good “balance” gets harder and harder. But, I find being on a schedule helps me a lot.

Giving my self deadlines and planning things out ahead of time for less stress an saniexity later. Being able to squeeze everything you have to/want to do in a single day is near impossible. And I think about it everyday I just want to sit and play Xbox all day and or make music. There’s positives in aging and change and to tho. That’s how I Cope with getting older knowing I get wiser every day and knowing that I am able ti put the work into what I love and see it pay off! being able to keep that balance is. It always easy but it can be done! Anything is possible!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art can be very unorthodox but, also very unique and creative. My influences run deep and I honestly can appreciate every genre. I go from listening to the Beatles David Bowie to Kendrick Lamar and Lil Uzi Vert and everywhere in between! I she like it really is my salad and creativity and it comes to song structure writing and production that’s gonna separate me from anyone in hip-hop history! The problem is I just have to be heard! I always try to bring different sounds every time I release because I never wanna sound like anyone else or even rap on a beat that is similar as best as I can. I still want to be accessible but still stay true myself and style. I always will be creative and experimental because I love making music that makes your brain think! My new album drops first week of July and I’m so excited I’m very proud of myself because I’ve been working for years trying to make a cohesive project and either they fall short or I never finished them and put them on the side this is a nice fun little tape more like a compilation of different style songs to see what the people are feeling. I think it’s a great way to start my album release process and a perfect project to be considered my first full length. I was always trying to come hard with this super heavy concept for my first album but I think I need some practice and time before I do that and what better way to do it then to start making projects like this that are experimenting with different type of sounds ! Already working on the next one as well! Right now I’m working as a audio engineer near Orlando Florida and I can officially say now that I get paid off for doing music which was the first step to my goal I want to be the ultimate musician it took a while to get to where I’m at graduating college six month internship and that’s not including hustling with my own music in brand for the past four years as well . It definitely wasn’t easy and really I should say it is not easy because I’m not exactly where I want to be. I never wanna be truly content with where I’m at I feel like there’s always another height to climb! There’s many lessons I’ve learned along this four year journey and I am still learning every day as a student of the game. one thing that I will say that I’ve learned to be true is that you definitely can’t trust everybody whether it be in the industry the streets or real life. do what’s in your best interest while still being humble and being a good person at heart .Which may sound contradictory but there is a way to do it. I see a lot of businesses and people in my own city putting on shows and saying that they’re putting people on but really deep down I feel like it’s a scam or just a business like at the end of the day if they don’t get their money they wouldn’t be doing this for the independent artist or community with that said there’s people in the industry that will hurt you as well whether it’s the labels AnR scam artists or social media scam promoters and marketers. just be very careful and do your research ! I want everyone to know through my music that I really care about this shit and that I’ve been doing it since fifth grade since I’ve been playing instruments and been in choir and drama. I love music and I want music to tell my story, their story, my children’s story my family or friends stories. whoever it may be and I want to use these stories to give back to my loved ones and my communities that believed in me first!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If there’s one thing I also love it’s food and I love trying new foods and new places And Orlando is the place for that! I haven’t been everywhere yet but a couple spots that I would go to with a friend who’s never been here would be Disney Springs Icon park or CityWalk at night all three of those places have a bunch of restaurants to choose from from popular to small to food trucks you name it! Gordon Ramsay‘s fish and chips is at icon Park that’s one of my favorites. there is a bowling alley bar and Grill type thing that will blow your mind at Disney and CityWalk Hard Rock Cafe is to die for!
