We had the good fortune of connecting with Alan Pugh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve worked for myself since I was in High School. This is actually my 3rd business venture. I sold my first business to a guy that worked for me. I still run my second business. The brewery has been more of a passion endeavor

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have a microbrewery in Downtown Tucker. We make amazing craft beers with a real experimental side. Our goal is to make our brewery a community meeting spot. Opening a business 3 months before a pandemic has been incredibly trying. At this point I’m surprised we’re still here. Our customers have been very supportive.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop is Brick Store Pub. Great food and an amazing beer list. Catch a show at Terminal West. Second day we hit The Beltline, a paved walking path that wraps around downtown Atlanta. Stop at Krog Street Market for lunch. Then Jake’s Ice cream for some Chocolate Slap Yo Mama.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife Maya has been incredibly supportive
