We had the good fortune of connecting with Gisel Castillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gisel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought that I could help others heal whether it be physically, spiritually, emotionally or mentally, inspired Gisel’s Harmony. It didn’t come to me until I took time to heal myself. It made sense to me in the mist of stepping into my own healing what my purpose was. Gisel’s Harmony is simply all about what has healed me. It’s a collection of natural remedies, rituals, and practices that create the harmony I live in. The product line came first as I was crafting holistic products for myself and family. Then I started working with children and holding space for them to heal at a children’s homeless shelter. Now I continue to expand my product line and I hold space for people to heal using a variety of healing tools at healing circles and workshops.

What should our readers know about your business?
Gisel’s Harmony is about all the different things that have brought me harmony throughout my life, from products, foods, healing tools, rituals, remedies, spiritual practices, plant medicines, travels, meditation and more.

Gisel’s Harmony creates harmony within the mind, body and spirit using holistic healing products and offering a variety of healing tools. It’s an apothecary that empowers and creates harmony.

I handcraft healing oils, butters, tinctures, teas, healing salves, aromatherapy mists, smudging blends, bug repellent, bath salts and many, many, more products.

The best thing about my products is that I handcraft them myself using only organic and natural ingredients. Just about everything is infused with healing herbs. I don’t use any pre-made base or add common synthetic fragrant oils to it. I create my own unique scents using a combination of essential oils, herbs or extracts. I am very intentional with how I create and infuse my products with healing intentions and vibrations.

I offer monthly Sister Circles and a variety of healing workshops throughout the year as well as host a women’s book club. I may have an art therapy workshop or an informative tea party and on some full moons a Goddess Circle. Updates on events can be found in my monthly newsletter just subscribe to the site and save the date.

Services such as an Aura Cleansing, Guided Meditation, Intuitive Reading, One-on-one intuitive healing session and more can all be booked on my site giselsharmony.com I cultivate sacred safe spaces when working with clients and make sure they feel comfortable to release and work through their own blockages.

Over the past few years, seeing the growth of my business and the impact it has had on clients has been the most rewarding. I love to hear the success of my clients and the steps they are taking forward on their path. It truly fulfills my heart and soul, and I am reminded every time that this is the work I am supposed to be doing. I am walking in my divine purpose.

This journey has been free flowing. Some days it’s great, it’s expanding, growing and blooming and other times it’s rough and discouraging. At the end of the day, it’s about consistency, it’s about not giving up, it’s about the bigger picture of the legacy I am creating. It’s beyond me and what I can make or what I can offer. It’s about the impact I am making on mama earth and how it changes the world one person at a time.

On this path I play the role of every single aspect of this business from crafting, labeling, marketing, budgeting, designing and building a site, all of which I have zero experience in, but I’ve learned a lot along the way. I love handcrafting products but everything else is challenging for me, yet they need to get done. Maybe I should have gone to school for it but that was not my passion. My passion was learning about herbs and the many ways they can heal us and helping others help themselves.

I am so excited to be celebrating 9 years of Gisel’s Harmony this year!!! Subscribe to giselsharmony.com to stay up to date with helping me celebrate.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has so many nice hiking trials. one of my favorites is the Roswell Mills. A nice sunrise is best seen at the top of Stone Mountain. For food I would recommend Tassili’s Raw Reality for their famous wraps and Sunflower Cafe have the best pancakes. Whenever I need comfort food, I hit up Plant Based Pizzaria or Jinya for their Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen. I love to just hang out at Piedmont Park, there is always something going on there or check out some spots on the Beltline or Ponce City Market.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be where I am without the support of my friends and family. They encourage me all the time to keep going, keep growing and expand beyond my comfort zone. I offer much gratitude to my sister Elizabeth for the support and guidance I’ve gotten from her since we first met 4 years ago. She is also an entrepreneur with an amazing story to tell about her journey. I want to especially thank my spiritual mentor, Jimar. Through my healing work with her, I have been able to step deeper into my true self and purpose. There are so many moving parts to what I do and so many others to thank but I am truly grateful for my customers and clients for the ongoing support.
