We had the good fortune of connecting with Janine Winn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
MINT & COCO was born from the desire to live more intentionally and be more mindful of the choices I made, in pursuit of the things I desired for myself. I started using intention candles a few years back and noticed significant change in how I approached manifesting, intention-setting, and healing. Fast forward to 2019, After a year of deliberating, I decided to make candles and products of my own that were all natural, Eco-friendly, and truly handmade.

I believe that one of our life’s purposes is to manifest. This is one of my core beliefs and the foundation of MINT & COCO. I created my brand to help people create their ideal lives with intention, own their personal power, create rituals that support their healing, growth, and spiritual practices.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Starting a business is never easy. Starting a business during the pandemic was definitely not the easiest but I felt it was needed. I created a line of products that are crafted by hand with love and intention, and designed to enhance your own intentions, whether that is to heal, clear your mind, grow in your spiritually, relax after a stressful day, set the energy for your home, during meditation, or simply to use to aid in manifestation.

It was so amazing how everything aligned. I was offered to attend an event with my products before I had even launched my business. I got to meet so many amazing people who are still my customers today. It was such a wild experience but one that left me certain that there was a need for what I was offering.

If I had to share anything about my brand or my business, I would talk about the heart of it – I created MINT & COCO as an offering. I wanted to be able to offer a space for anyone who needed the support but also to connect with individuals that were on similar paths. My aim has always been to offer products that could you could use to intentionally heal, manifest your desires, elevate your self-care, enhance your spiritual growth, and everyday rituals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d take her to one of my favorite plant shops, @RootsByChristine. After plant shopping, I’d take her down to the Oregon District to grab brunch from @LilysBistro. There are tons of cute shops and bars in the area, we’d hang out there, rent a scooter to ride around Downtown Dayton. I’d also spend a few days being a foodie and sharing all of my favorite local restaurants, going wine tasting, crystal shopping, and discovering other local gems.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of the things I’m most grateful for is my support system. I would have to acknowledge my family as one of the most influential when it comes to launching my business. I also have a few close friends that are always a phone call away. No matter the endeavor or crazy idea I come up with, they’re always rallying in support of me. There have been times where I was uncertain about being in business and they’d quickly jump in to help me redirect my thoughts and energy.

To name them individually, My dad, My mom, Shree, Rhonda, Chetta, and Christina. I love them so much!
