We had the good fortune of connecting with Niurka Rosales and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niurka, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
My happiness is based on everything that gives meaning to my life. My family as a base and main pillar that sustains me. My profession as a Lawyer, Doctorate in Administrative Law in my country of Venezuela, as a personal achievement.
And finally my passion for Balloon Art. Arriving in this country as an immigrant, becoming displaced with my family as a result of the fire in our home here in Georgia. Seeing my family as my little refuge, knowing that they are the engine that gives life to my heart and the strength to continue together building dreams at every step, gave me enough energy to start from scratch again with my project, “Mi Estilo de Fiesta”. I must say that I took the saying “Welcome to the land of the American dream” very seriously.

The country where you can achieve anything you set your mind to. As long as you do it with love, dedication, discipline, responsibility; no longer as a hobby but as a Balloon Artist and I continued giving color to my life.

Because it allows me to create my own style, to be authentic, it allows me to make with my own hands works of art with balloons and flowers, and in this way bring joy and memorable moments to many homes. It is exciting to see faces of surprise, joy and tears of emotion on people’s faces when you make a surprise delivery. Or when we make the decoration of their dreams. It is fascinating

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Always give the best of yourself in every artistic composition you make, always have an element of surprise that your client does not expect. Create and design something unique and special for each person, if possible always deliver a sketch digitally or on paper with the designs of the decoration, I always say that what the client imagines is not the same as how we imagine it. The constant training courses and workshops in person or online helped me to grow in all areas of my career, knowing the techniques in the balloon industry allows you to deliver a job well done. It was not easy, I had few economic resources, starting over after losing everything was difficult for me, but not impossible. I got organized and prepared myself to build up a new inventory of raw materials to offer my services again. I want to tell everyone who is reading about me, who has a business idea that: yes you can do it! If you have it in your mind and in your heart you will achieve it. Everything in this life is perseverance and sacrifices. This country is a blessing and offers you a variety of opportunities to achieve your goals. Someone once told me: “Chase your dreams”. I am still chasing it, because it is growing as the years go by

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For me, enjoying the sun and the outdoors is essential and fun. We would go to some parks like: Piedmont Park, Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta Botanical Garden and Stone Mountain Park. As well as Atlanta tourist attractions like Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola. We like the food from our Venezuelan culture, so I think we would choose one day to eat our typical food and other days to enjoy the restaurants in the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Personally, my husband Jesus, who is my right hand to execute all the ideas of our clients. When I started, I did it in the middle of the Pandemic. In the beginning everything worked well, all sales were online, but as businesses reopened and business life normalized, I realized that I needed more than my excitement and desire to run and manage my business. I decided to enroll in the Latin American Association’s Avanzando Juntas Program, run by Monica Cucalon General Director of Economic Empowerment and Mabel del Valle Latina Economic Empowerment Program Manager, a program for Latina Entrepreneurs, which helps and creates opportunities for Latinas in their entrepreneurship and business development in Georgia. This definitely changed the way I look at things and the way I manage my business
