We had the good fortune of connecting with Brennan Sherman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brennan, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to have a flourishing photography and videography business. By the end of my career hopefully I’ll be in a situation to encourage young like minded creatives to have successful business focusing on their creative strengths and gifts.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart is that I get to know my clients well. I love creating a relationship with them. The way I photograph and film isn’t technically unique. What I do that is unique is I photograph and video how I see my clients. Meaning, I must get to know them in order to do my best work. I focus on the things that they themselves don’t realize shine. I’m charismatic and personable, I make others feel comfortable enough to express themselves around me, knowing I’ll portray them authentically and artistically. I’m most proud of the empowerment and support I offer my clients. When a client says that they feel seen, heard, beautiful and celebrated, that’s what makes me the most excited.

I got where I am today by being an employee of several different companies. Mostly, I have to contribute my business sense from working at the Apple Store as a Sales Associate. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am today, and I’m not done growing. I overcame the challenges with the support of friends and family that supported me and my passion. I learned that as much as you wish and hope that everyone has good intent, at the end of the day they’re also running a business. Meaning, if given the chance or put in an unfavorable position, they’ll do what they can to save themselves, even if it’s at the expense of you.

I want the world to know that my brand is about celebrating relationships and yourself. At the end of the day, no matter where you go or what you’re doing, experiences are meant to be shared with others. That’s what photography and videography mean to my brand and my story; come as you are and stay a while!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I would take them somewhere I’ve visited and and enjoyed. The first thing we’d do is we’d do all the touristy things the first few days. Visit the museums and the palaces, all the distinct areas with architecture. After we’ve done all that, then we’d go and do things that are customary to the night life in the area. During the week we’d have a dinner at a friends house so that my best friend could get a sense or a vibe of what it’s like to to be an “ordinary” citizen of that particular city. The rest of the week would be site seeing locations that look nothing like home, visiting places that have distinct history and culture, along with seeing scenic views of the landscape that surrounds that city and define it to what it is today!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m going to have to give my shout out to Autumn Harrison! She is a fantastic photographer and an even better mentor. I started doing photography and videography full time in September of 2021. A potential past client turned me down for my services but we still kept in touch. This client sent me an Instagram post from Autumn offering coaching that year. I started coaching with Autumn in January of 2022. Her encouragement, thoughtful words have transformed the way I see myself and my business. She was able to see exactly what I was missing and catered a business plan to help me achieve my end goals. Before Autumn, I was heavily discouraged and didn’t know if I had what it took to be full time creative. But she made me recognize the self worth I was overlooking and has been giving those last few pushes to I need to overcome my obstacles!
