We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Gardner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been passionate about hair. Dealing with my own personal hair condition I was always about appearance and your hair is the main source to that. I remember when it was time for our high school senior pictures everyone was looking for me to either apply some eyeshadow or to clean up their hair and make it presentable for the pictures. Hair has always been my passion and in 2017 I finally took that major step in branded myself and my business.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
As of today it took hard work and dedication. I would work my 9-5 just so that I can invest in my business. I can rest assure you it wasn’t easy at all. From getting off work to going home and working on my own business was very challenging but I know for certain it will all pay off. Moving forward to overcome obstacles I would still be working on my brand any free time I got while being at my 9-5. Over the past 5 years I’ve realized you can’t rush success. You can’t start something and expect to have popcorn results. Everything that is worth having and cherishing takes time. I want the world to know that Acire Nyne LLC is not only a brand/ company, its a lifestyle where creativity is free and style is comfortable. We give back free informative information to our clients and so much more.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend was in town I would take her on a night out experiencing different genres of music, food, etc. One place I would take her too is Fade and Facet, its a great restuarant with a exquisite atmosphere that is too die for. If available I would also accommodate her to a comedy show you can never go wrong with a good laughter. After that we will play the rest of the day by ear as we all know your best spontaneous moments comes from just being free and going with the flow.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out numerous of people, but the main ones that stand out more than anyone is a mutual friend name Jessica who actually took the time out to help me register my business and show me the ins and out of how to legitimize my brand. Another person I want to thank and give recognition to is my higher power, without him I am nothing and he has always pushed me to be the best and to never leave nothing on the table. Hard work brings great results.
