We had the good fortune of connecting with Shona Dion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shona, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from a small town called Dacula GA. As a young child, I use to love playing in makeup and experimenting in different colors. While I was in high school, I was in a beauty pageant, winning, and receiving a modeling scholarship, where they sent me to beauty and modeling school.

When completing modeling school, I was with a modeling agency. Which landed me, in magazines, fashion shows, print work, music videos and film. As I got older, I wanted to go a different route into the beauty limelight. So, I decided to do Bikini Pageantry and Bodybuilding competitions, which I did my own make up, as well as others.

Then, I noticed the artistry of makeup was changing. It was evolving and I wanted to learn more. So, YouTube became my teaching, and I became better at it. The more I posted my work, the more it caught everyone’s attention. Which led me where I am today.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well… I go by the name Glamfitchick, Because of my history of modeling, fitness, and my passion of makeup artistry. The name just made sense. In this Profession, it’s very challenging. Because everyone who has this passion is out there doing it, which can be quite nerve racking, but you have to stay positive and in your own lane. I continue to learn, grow, and research the newest trends and go after them. When people take notice, then I know I’ve done something right.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well…LOL!!! My bestie knows I love the finer things. So, we’ll hit up the Shops Of Buckhead, or The Avalon for shopping or eating. Or if it’s in the summertime, we’ll go to the gym, workout, and relax at the pool afterwards. I’m pretty simple and laid back.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I must say, My Husband, close Family and Friends, and the support of social media really had my support in all of this. They are my biggest Cheerleaders. I truly thank them for that.
