We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex S and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is something that is a must in order to grow in the industry. This allows us to learn from our mistakes in order to advance and develop skills. There will always be something to risk and in my case it was more of time, effort, and most importantly networking. Your networks are your net worth when you start helping each other with all the best intentions to see everyone win. There will always be opportunities the moment when you stop viewing others as competition because at the end of it all we are completing against ourselves to be better. This has allowed me to create and expand my networks throughout the states and in some countries. It comes to show that you can have a great idea but if you don’t risk anything then you will never progress.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Before starting El Calor De Miami, I was struggling to get heard by others because I did not know how to get my foot in the door. Countless times I put myself out there approaching many venues feeling discouraged because no one wanted to give me a chance to DJ. This motivated me to start a podcast where I can create opportunities so other djs can get heard and to guide others with tips and advice so they can also grow their platform. Up to this day, it is still hard to overcome some of the challenges but with support and feedback from our listeners, it keeps me going in order to make the podcast better each year for every new season and every new episode. Along the way I learned the importance of consistency and quality because these attributes continue to play through the success of the podcast.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I will take my friends to the best places to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout my area tasting other foods from Colombia and Venezuela from Los Verdes to Pepito’s. Some of the most interesting places will be the downtown Miami Brickell area including the art district of wynwood and South beach. The clubs and the nightlife is also great to check out from hanging out in wynwood to the downtown Hollywood area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The biggest inspiration of my success has been Pandulcelife, a highly energetic and creative latin mixshow hosted by DJ Refresh based out of San Diego, California. Through Pandulcelife I was able to create one of the hottest latin mixshows called El Calor De Miami, The Heatmix Life. The podcast creates an avenue of opportunities to be able to network with other djs throughout the world. Another inspiration throughout my success has been my great friend DJ Niche who always pushes me to go the extra mile in order to deliver the best performances. The podcast would also not be possible without Rift-Multimedia, Melly Starz, The Ambience Beats, Ari, And Ynez. I like to credit all of the past guest DJs and all the listeners who have been tuned in since 2019. Finally I like to credit my family and my closest friends for always supporting me from the very beginning. With hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
