We had the good fortune of connecting with Pasheun Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pasheun, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Really not caring about the things that people fed me, the doubt , the fake love. No one can tell you you can’t achieve your goals because no ones on the same grind for goals you are, really accepting that fact that someone is always going to have something to say , hate on, doubt or even clown and they’re not even close to achieving their goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Getting to where I’m at today, wasn’t easy , and I’m still, I feel, pretty far from my end goal. I can honestly say the biggest thing I’m proud of myself for is picking up in my early 20s and leaving my home town because I believed in myself. No it wasn’t easy, I still have times where I really feel like I’m failing and that I just need to close up shop and run home but then I see that things are going good, yes they aren’t perfect but I’m doing the damn thing. I may not see it all the time because I’m so excited got my end goal but I’m inspiring people, I’m making a difference, I have fun being on set, I have fun setting up sets, I have fun creating content and forming networking events, I have sooo much fun shopping and styling, I love this. My biggest challenge was taking a leap of faith for myself, another challenge was lack of support from family. I’ve learned and even before moving and doing more things in my career than in my hometown, that family isn’t the one you come from but the one you make. Challenging for me was not being hurt when my art was taken as a joke, not being hurt when another person in my house wanted to do the same thing as me but received all the glory, because those things set you up as a real boss and now that can’t even shake me, see you at the top. I want the world to know, you ARE NOT who they try to paint you to be, you ARE NOT useless, and you have worth and value. People will try to bring you down, never let you live past mistakes, and it’s your job to shine brighter than all of that.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My son. Yes this is My dream and what I want to do but I feel like if he wasn’t here I would still be making moves not in the right direction, still procrastinating, but no. Now I’m at a point of healing from my childhood and moving and grinding toward a great light not only for me, but because he’s already here, I’m on a time frame. I don’t want to ever have him to even remember wanting for anything, having mommy work all the time, struggling. That’s not on the agenda for my children and I want to work as hard and do everything in my power to set the generations after me up for greatness and power.
