We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the the success of my brand is the impact. My ultimate goal is to have a positive impact on as many lives as I possibly can. Growing up, my Mom would always tell my siblings and I that “service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth.” It’s one of her most valued quotes by the late, great Muhammad Ali. I’d like to say that I’ve adopted those values as well.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started Hoops 4 Breast Cancer, LLC in 2017. The unfortunate passing of my God Mom is what inspired me to educate communities through service events to spread breast cancer awareness. She was the true definition and example of what the title entails. My intent was to organize an event to honor her fight. However, it turned out to be something much greater and influential than I could have ever imagined. October 2021 marked my 5th Annual Hoops 4 Breast Cancer Charity Basketball Tournament. The growth of my organization and this event has been absolutely phenomenal. I couldn’t be more proud of our impact as our vision is to be a leading organization that provides breast cancer research, healthcare resources, and financial support.
Since obtaining my MBA in 2019, I’ve indulged in the field of Sports & Entertainment Management. With my substantial experience in managing sports events, I have come to know the intricacies of the industry while establishing a reputable brand and image. I’ve also had the pleasure of managing local hip-hop artists out of Atlanta. I strive to continuously evolve and elevate, as there are no limits to how far I can go.
Nothing happens overnight and there are always roadblocks along the journey. My support system has provided me the motivation that has allowed me to come this far in my entrepreneurial career.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, what’s not to love in Atlanta?! We would kick the week off with a hike to the top of Stone Mountain. I’d like to say that Taco Tuesday is a vibe in every town. One of my favorite Tuesday spots is Atlantis in Buckhead. On Wednesday, I’d suggest a picnic at Piedmont Park. The scenery is everything and the people are really nice and social. Thursday would be designated for karaoke. We’d definitely have to go to FamFam Private Room Karaoke. Friday is when the real turn up begins! Atlanta nightlife is the absolute best. There are so many options to choose from which is what would lead us to Edgewood. Some of the most well-known bars are there, along with the famous, Slutty Vegan. Saturday will be an eventful day starting out at Lake Allatoona. Again, the picnic vibes are always a go. Lastly, we’ll catch up on some sports and head to an Atlanta Hawks or Dream basketball game.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I have to give all praise and thanks to God. Nothing I’ve done or accomplished would have ever been possible without his favor in my life. Blessed would be a complete understatement. I’d also like to shoutout my parents. They instilled a hard work ethic and dedication to not only finish what I start, but the confidence to pursue any endeavor as well. Lastly, I’d like shoutout my entire family, significant other and close friends. Their support and belief in me is all the motivation that I need!
