We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciph Boogie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ciph, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My ability to stay true to myself and be grounded, also I would say my ability to stay consistent in my craft throughout all my peaks and valleys. Even days when I really felt like I wanted to quit doing music, but I kept going still. Just digging deep for that inspiration. I recently posted a Meme on my Facebook page that said “My Mother worked too hard for me not to be great” That spoke to me loudly because in thinking of the type of woman my mother was, her work ethic and knowing how much of a successful life that she wanted me to have, it ties back into what I said in the beginning about being able to stay consistent and stayed grounded.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is inspired by the human experience the good and bad of life, I prefer to display this balance in my music, because that’s what life is, it’s never always good and its never always bad. But if your able to balance you will be fine. I believe this is what sets me apart from others.
I’m not interested in short term moments, yes, it’s very important to enjoy the moment and be in the moment. But I think of how I want my message to be heard long after I’m here, that’s super important to me, and I don’t really believe that’s something that’s of priority currently in music. I am most excited about the new music that I have on the way, I’m exploring the depths of my creativity and just going to the highest-level creative wise, I think everyone is going to be very pleased with what I have coming on the way. I got to where I am professionally, by staying true to who I am, and keeping myself grounded and consistent. Even when I felt like quitting, I always just stayed down and kept my focus, I believe this was key in my growth as an artist. It wasn’t easy, but again going back to the human experience philosophy nothing in life is going to be easy, but you must have strength and courage to keep going forward no matter what. The lessons I have learned in my journey, is to stay grounded that’s super important to me, and learn the business understand your value as an artist where nobody can get over on you. I want the world to know that I put my all into this music, and I want to inspire my listeners to keep growing to their fullest potential, even when they are at their highest potential, I want them to keep going, because you must keep growing as an individual. Also, I want the world to know that #BrooklynStayWinning
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a place to eat I would suggest The Ribbon which is located at W. 72nd street over on central park west and Columbus Ave in New York City. Depending on how the weather is In NY you can walk down to central park to vibe out. Another spot which has a cool vibe is Lot 45 which is in Bushwick Brooklyn. You can get pretty good drinks and their dance parties are amazing. Wherever the vibe is universal and everyone is having a great time, that makes it the most fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to everyone who has ever streamed my music, gave an encouraging word. rooted for me gave me words of advice etc. If you have supported me on this journey, I’m super grateful to you.
