We had the good fortune of connecting with Glynisha Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glynisha, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Miami , Fl from a hood called Overtown Miami . You may know of Overtown Miami if you’ve ever watched First 48. Overtown is known because of all the violence that goes on in the neighborhood, but it’s also a historic place. My background had an impact on where I am today because I use to watch everyone around me and they were all hustlers . They all supported you all around. I remember when I was 15 years old doing hair in my mom’s living room, I was booked and busy everyday. I remember one of my “aunts “ would tell me to grab a young lady from apartment such and such and do their hair . She would pay me much more than I charged and she did it constantly, I remember she would buy me shoes and all along with payment just because . She wasn’t only helping me , she was also helping the mothers who possibly couldn’t afford to get their child’s hair done . What I could say about Overtown is that If you look with your eyes you’d see poverty, violence , and a whole lot of drama . But when you look with your spirit you see warriors, a tribe , and a village. Although Overtown wasn’t the safest place to live I always knew I was safe . Everyone knows everyone and everybody looks out for everybody. When I was a kid there wasn’t one place I could be without someone knowing who I was based upon who my mom , aunts , grandmother is. Overtown molded me . Through the good , the bad , and the ugly ……. Overtown made me Flawlesslyglynn.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most proud of the photo shoots that I put together . Each shoot tells a different story based upon where I would be in my life at the time . I’ve done shoots that has promoted my growth as a woman meaning myself being visualized as a tree planted blossoming from the concrete . I’ve done a photoshoot that highlighted Queens fixing my crown which to me represents me as a person . Doing hair for me is personal because every Queen that sits in my chair leaves differently because I’m not your average hairstylists. I pray for my clients , I pray with my clients and I push them to chase their dreams , no matter what it may be . I feel like my chair is a manifestation chair because my client and I slay whatever negativity maybe going on in their life in my chair .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best-friend came to visit me here in Atlanta the first place I would take him-her is to Miss Icey’s Kitchen & Bar in Decatur for brunch on a Sunday morning. The place has amazing vibes , the music is good and the drinks are definitely sure to make you tipsy . Oh and the food gives you a taste of grandma’s good ol cooking like Love in your tummy . That evening we could head over to my brothers house . He and his wife are amazing cooks and they cook some of the best meals while we all sit and watch movies together with the kids . Monday we’d have to start the day off with breakfast at my home , I love to cook breakfast when we have company over . It’s a rule everybody eats good when you’re at my house . On Tuesday we could go to Slutty Vegan for lunch because I absolutely love the energy at the restaurant and the food is pretty good as well . My favorite thing on their menu is the Happy Ending Banana Pudding . On Wednesday we can go to Atlanta’s Breakfast Club for breakfast although the place is always super crowded it’s worth the wait because the food is good. Also , later that day we could go to Tavern . Their seafood platter is so delicious and they have a drink called Wet P*ssy that is the bomb okayyy . I believe on Wednesdays they do karaoke as well and that would be a fun way to end the night. On Thursday morning we could go to Ol Lady Gang for breakfast/brunch , I enjoy their deviled eggs, their signature wings, salmon bites as appetizers. The meal is have to go with the grilled lamb chops , and my drink would have to be the hurricane. Since we’d eat so much we would have to relax and take a nice walk in Piedmont park . Now the best thing about Piedmont park is there’s so much to do while you’re there, and there’s also places to drink as you walk the strip. On Friday we would have to Milk & Honey for breakfast , it’s more relaxing and chill . Now that evening I would take my bestfriend to Blue Catina . Blue Catina is such a vibe and very inexpensive. The food is delicious and they bring it out to you in no time . The music is bomb and we could dance it up all night . Now Saturday would be a more chill day we can head on over to the Botanical Garden to see some beauty in nature . I love the walk through the botanical garden I feel like it’s a day of meditation which is necessary after a long week of drinking and turning up . That way he-she is ready for their flight back home being more relaxed and chilled .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to my fiancé Patrick Langston for always believing in me. I would also like to give a shout out to my mom Bette Parks for always being my number one fan no matter our differences . I would also like to give a shout out to my cousin Aleshia Parks CEO of Trenchcoattreasurz ( a lingerie and loungewear company dedicated to women of all sizes, shape, and color). She has helped me in the background when it came to launching my products in my business, there were things that she taught me about launching my website, and I’m so thankful for her for that. I keep telling her she needs to write an eBook because the information she knows isn’t as common as people would think.  If I could give a group of people a shout out it would be my family “ The Parks, Williams , and Moore’s because when I’m at my lowest they are there to help pick me up . When I suffered with depression they are the ones who helped me laugh on a daily , loved me on a daily , and cared for me . Lastly I have to give a shout out to my Flawless Dolls. My Flawless Dolls travel near and far to be braided by Flawlesslyglynn. Flawless Doll is what I call my clients, my clients are there for me to remind me of my hype energy, fun, and laughter when I’m not feeling so well. I believe because I inspire them on a daily with my Flawless messages, they give the same love in return when I’m the one in need of inspiration.  I’m so thankful for them all and without them I wouldn’t be who I am today . I’m so thankful for the gift that God gave me with my hands. It’s bigger than me, it’s bigger than just braids. It’s a ministry if I really think about it. What a blessing it is to be a blessing. I’m going to send this with, I love all, understand you are loved, you are strong, and you are flawless.
