We had the good fortune of connecting with Yuriana Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yuriana, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from a small, country town called Warner Robins, Ga. I come from a hardworking family. Most importantly, a loving family. My parents taught me how to be ambitious and to be proactive when it comes to getting what you want out of life. They inspire me to be who I am today. Growing up, my mom owned her own salon and I thought that was the most amazing thing to witness. As I got older, I wanted to own my own business just like her.
My parents instilled in the me the importance of loving myself and taught me that there is no limit to who I can be in this world. With many lessons in between, here I am today betting on me and accomplishing everything I set out to do.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started VibeManiacs 4 years ago. I’ve always been big on clothing. I like pieces that are unique. I have a vast imagination and creating my brand was an outlet for me to express myself. Hats have always and will forever be great accessories to add to your wardrobe. The hat apparel that I create is for everyone. Anyone will find something that fits their sense of style and the energy they want to present to the world.

Over the years, I have learned a lot while trying to start and run my business. I even gave up on it at one point and figured that maybe this wasn’t for me. After stepping back and reflecting, I realized that nothing in this life worth having is easy to obtain.
I was able to shift my perspective by having this amazing faith in God and believing that he wouldn’t give me this dream without a reason.

I am most proud of myself for not giving up, following through, and achieving all that I set out to do.
The world may not know VibeManiacs just yet, but here is the first introduction. It won’t be the last that you will see of me.
My brand will continue to evolve and create styles that last a lifetime. This is just the beginning, so stay tuned!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the city, because there is always something to do. Atlanta is full of entertainment, whether you want to stay low key or turn up. Any time my best friend and I get together, it’s always an adventure. If she came to visit, the main goal would be to make sure she had a blast.

Our Itinerary wouldn’t be in a particular order as we both like to wake up and see where the day takes us.
Like most women, we enjoy eating, shopping, and exploring new things. We would go to my favorite eateries, malls, and places of entertainment.
When you come to Atlanta, it’s a must that you get some wings – 10pc Hot with lemon pepper sprinkles and a peach drink! You know the vibes. With that being said, I would take her to Wings 101. Another one of my favorite places is the Black-owned restaurant, Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours. They have some of the best soul food. I’m also a seafood lover – I could probably eat it every day. Juicy Crab is the best place to pickup a nice seafood boil. I’m probably one of the few people who hasn’t tried Slutty Vegan, but that would be on the itinerary as well.

At some point, we would have to get a shopping day or two in. My first stop would be Atlantic Station because they have many places to shop and other fun activities. Perimeter Mall is another option as well.

As for entertainment during her visit, I would plan for us to rent scooters to explore the city and go sight seeing. We would also go for a picnic at either Centennial or Piedmont Park to enjoy nature, visit the Trap Museum, and at night, visit a couple bars on Edgewood such as Harold’s or Mother’s. To end the night, we’d find ourselves doing karaoke and listening to live music at Siva’s.

On the days that we don’t have anything planned, we’ll find something new to do and enjoy our time together in the A!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Parents – Nichole Long & Christopher Smith. My parents have always been my biggest supporters. They’ve always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. Also, after the passing of my dad, creating VibeManiacs was a way for me to feel and stay connected to him.

I would like to also send a big shoutout to my closest friends and family. They know who they are. They love, support, and motivate me unconditionally. Without them, there wouldn’t be a VibeManiacs.
