We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucus Canty and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucus, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew the life I wanted could not come from working a regular job. It serves its purpose for right now, but it’s not for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m an artist. What sets me apart from others is just being me. I don’t try to sound like anyone. I’m most proud of the fact that I haven’t given up. Usually I get bored with something and leave it alone, but I can tell that this is something I’m supposed to be doing. I’ve definitely been discouraged along the way, but remembering what made me want to start helps me keep pushing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have a few people I would like to shout out. No particular order, but first I would like to shoutout Sleezo (@sleezodagreat). He helps me a lot behind the scenes and has never wanted anything in return, except for me to be great. Next, is Zoc (@unfb.zoc) Since we’re both doing the same thing, he helps me when I feel like giving up and vice versa! Last but not least, Victoria (@__Vrose) who has been behind me 100% since day one. A lot of people support what I have going on and I’m very thankful, but these 3 definitely go above and beyond.
