This is an excellent question. Balance is essentially important in all walks of life! I have maintained the balance with modeling and magazine publishing by scheduling when I am able to shoot and finding time to work on the magazine too. I never do both in the same day. I also work a part-time to help with expenses outside of the businesses. I used to take a shoot whenever I had a day off, and then work on the magazine late nights. The biggest lesson I learned is with God all things are possible. When you are running any business, your life has to change. In the beginning of starting my business, I worked full-time, still engaged in family and friends events, and extra-curricular activities with my kids. I tried to cook, clean, and live life like I had been doing for years. I suddenly came to realize that would not work. I couldn’t be everywhere anymore and I had to prioritize where and when I spent my time. Another thing that I learned is that it is okay to spend money to save time.
