Work life balance: how has your balance changed over time? How do you think about the balance?


What’s the right balance between work and non-work time? The traditional 9-5 has slowly disappeared with the emails and zoom and texting going far beyond traditional business hours. We asked members of our community to share with us how they think about work-life balance.

Early in my career, I was intensely focused on making money, learning how to grow a business, and overcoming my own insecurities. At the time, I thought success meant working harder and longer. My understanding of balance has changed dramatically over time. For much of my life, I thought balance meant doing everything well and keeping all the plates spinning at once. Over the past few years, I have been working harder than ever before, juggling multiple things at once. Before I got my Marketing job, I was waiting tables anywhere from 30+ hours a week, in school full-time, and working on my Fantasy series and Poetry.
