Why did you pursue an artistic or creative career?

Artists and creatives face innumerable challenges given that their career path often doesn’t come with a playbook, a steady paycheck or any form of safety net. It’s definitely not easy and so we asked a few of the artists and creatives we admire to talk to us about why they chose to pursue an artistic or creative career.

As cliché as it sounds, it’s all I ever wanted. As a kid, I wanted to make video games. But I also wanted to be a meteorologist, an astronomer, a chef,…you get the idea. Good art requires good business. All creators are initially required to be entrepreneurs by trade. I resonate because I started out as a producer and writer. It wasn’t really much of a ‘choice’. Being a Creative was something I felt like I was destined to do. I’ve always been passionate about the arts/being in a creative space.
