As a parent my main goal is to be a friend to my kids who listen with no judgment, validate their feelings , avoid over reacting, make them feel that I am a safe person to express their emotions , opinions and mistakes. Together we work through challenges to find solutions as a team. Being I try to wear so many hats, I get told that “A jack of all trades is a master of none” but after hearing the entire saying “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one” I realized that with some people they can’t see your vision how you see it. Most people I encounter think graphic dresing is about creating atrractive, artistic posters, billboards, logos and other deliverables. But grap[hic design is about solving problems by using design. Companies need to stand out in the marketplace and have a clear identity, so we create brand identity systelms that consist of logos, colors, fonts, etc., so the market can recognize a particular brand. About 90% of my time is spent working towards the actual job. Most of us are lucky to even get an audition for a feature film or a hit tv show, and even luckier if we actually book the job. The competition is so fierce, even in Atlanta. I’d say even for a seasoned veteran the rejection rate is 80-85%. So, the other 10% of my time is spent on set actually doing the work. You kind of have to fall in love with the process. You have to fall in love with auditioning or else you’ll be sorely disappointed. What is the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make? There’s so many difficult decisions I make every day! Off the top of my head I can name countless ones, pertaining to what I’d do with my last couple of dollars on hand, to what task to prioritize, to which career path I should take.
