Risk & Reward: can you have one without the other?

By far, the topic that comes up most in our conversations with entrepreneurs and creatives is risk. We’ve had conversations about risks that worked out and risks that did not. We’ve seen eyes light eye sharing about career-trajectory changing risks as well as folks sigh about the risks they wish they had taken. I think about risk as a necessary step toward growth and success. If you view risk in a positive light, it becomes a tool for progress rather than something to fear. Fear can keep you stagnant, holding you back from the steps needed to reach your goals. I can naturally lean on the side of being overly cautious but I’ve realized that there’s so much reward in risk-taking. I have to fight to remember that all the time. We all too often can give up when things are hard, but we have to ask ourselves if it is worth it.
