We had the good fortune of connecting with Renata Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renata, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My mother was a serial entrepreneur. So it was embedded in me to be a business owner. I’ve been a LPN for 10 years, so covid was rough for me. After constant stress and worrying, I decided to start my business as a side gig. Making people’s magical vacations helped with the stress. After covid, I decided to make business ownership my primary commitment. It’s been a hard road but an enjoyable one!
  

What should our readers know about your business?
Dream Excursions Travel Agency is my baby! We established in early 2022. It was FAR from easy but I’ve been determined. 2021, I took a year to perfect my craft through education. I immersed myself into anything travel related and earned over 60 certifications to give the best experience to my clients. I take pride in knowing I am knowledgeable, accurate, and punctual for my clients. D.E.T.A. not only provides excellent customer service and expertise, but amazing gifts and treats to improve and emphasize the relationship between us and our clients. D.E.T.A. stands on professionalism, integrity, and professional intimacy. Making client experience personalized and unique.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First thing I would tell them is to pay a city pass. You get 5 locations, such as Coca-cola World, The Aquarium, and the Atlanta Zoo. If you looking to see celebrities, you can check out Frost Bistro. They have some amazing high-end brunch restaurants in the area. If you are an art buff, Krog st Bridge is a great free attraction that showcases graffiti as the art it is!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Tyzhan. He is my biggest supporter. It’s been so many crying nights where he comforted me and gave me pep talks. He has acted as my chauffeur, driving, dropping me off and picking me up at different events. He will pick up side gigs and work overtime to make sure I can pay my expenses. I appreciate him so much!
