The book that I reference all the time, because of how much it has impacted my mindset, is “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” by Mark Mason. Prior to reading The Subtle Art, I was unfamiliar with a lot of psychological terms and mantras that self-help authors often highlight in their works. A book I recommend reading, especially for those who are in a season of uncertainty, trusting God to bring them through and in their process of trying to accomplish a certain goal in life, is a book called “Bamboozled By Jesus” by Yvonne Orjie. Her book is such a page-turner on how God tricked her to live the life of her dreams. In the book, she describes the many trials and moments of doubt, fear, and frustration she experienced while on her journey to becoming an amazing actress, writer, producer, and comedian. Read more>>

I wanted complete control over my own life. I have a streak of perfectionism in me – and the idea of trying to please a boss and/or corporation to the standards I hold myself to – at the same time I am also demanding that level from my own personal ventures – became completely overwhelming.
